If there was one thing I could change about my bike, this would be it. What are some good options for altering the hue. What would be the cheapest alternative? Just curious to see if anyone here has modded their rims. Thanks!  

Welllll...I've had a few choice words about the white rims and the rocket scientist who created 'em.  :x  I know some have painted theirs, and they've come out looking nice... Wish I could remember what threads they were mentioned in (sorry, I'm too tired and lazy to search for you ).

I'm with ya on this one. I can't stand the while wheels. I'm very happy with my dark gray metallic ones.

yea I did a search for white rims and got a bunch of odd threads. Just spent the last 20 minutes reading some interesting stuff about southern racists. Some scary stuff in there. There are some 'interesting' members here. I almost thought I was back in the pre-60's. Whoa.

i absolutly despise anything other than white, grey or black rims make my throw up in my mouth alittle just by looking at them.  ok no not really, but i really like the white rims and would take them over the black or greys, but i still like the others, just white rims the best cause they create contrast between the tire and themselves.

Yea, though your av is kinda small, I really like the gray. Anybody got grays they wanna trade or sell? LOL.

Just don't wash them.  My rear rim is almost black now.

There is a rule covering this. If you have a bike with white rims you want black and vice-versa. I was at a scrap lace yesterday looking for some odds and ends for the '81 Yamaha project but spotted an old GS with white wheels that really grabbed my attention (Of course I have black)

i dont particularly care for my white wheels,either. But i have scrub them so much that they dont  have a clear coat anymore :lol: .  And decided a few years ago to polish the lips which turned out pretty good. But keep those b$**)s polished :x ....

If you make the effort, you can probably find a powdercoater in your area who'll cut you a deal. Look in the phonebook, then go meet the boss face-to-face, and ask him if he'd be willing to give you a good price on doing your wheels in the color you want at the same time they do a project for someone else. The worst thing he can do is to say no, which means you thank him for his time, and go somewhere else.

A friend of mine got both of his white wheels done in red (for a blue Honda CBR600F2) for only $100, because he was ready when the painter called him. Some other customer was having old metal patio furniture done in several different colors (I have no idea why), including the same red that my friend wanted. The painter called him on Tuesday and told him to drop the wheels off by Thursday; he had the tires removed at the local stealership, and delivered the wheels on Wednesday just before closing time. They were powdercoated Thursday afternoon, the tires were reinstalled Friday afternoon, and the wheels were back on the bike Saturday morning (he was too drunk to turn a wrench Friday night, which is his own damn fault). :lol:

I usually paint all my wheels silver. It costs less than $5 a wheel with rattle cans.

I've got white rims on my bike.  I don't know.  Not that bad.  I've also got a silver front and a yellow ( ) rear that I'm going to send off to sandblast and powder coat.

Yeah, we have some characters here. I just ignore the trolls who post inflammatory statements just to watch the kids get mad.  :dunno:

Besides, scrubbing my white wheels takes up most of my time anyways.

Nothin wrong with white underwear, much easier to find on the floor in an emergency like a fire or her husband coming home......
