Hey, Suzuki finally has made a sport bike that fits me right off of the floor... the old style are WAY too tall.

Well, needless to say, POWER.  This thing has power out of its band that puts my SV to shame.  In the power band, we're operating under different laws of physics.

But the little things are what I particularly liked...

-The transmission.  Absolutely the most precise shifts of any bike I've ridden.  No issues going into first, no getting stuck in neutral.  You shift and you're there.
-Suspension rocks.  Very solid, and it moves like it knows where you're wanting to go.  Crisp.
-Brakes, of course, are great.
-The instrument panel does a very good job of conveying a good amount of information without looking confusingly busy.  The gear indicator is a nice touch.
-A lovely noise, especially once the RPM get up there.
-A well-done FI system is nice.[/list:u]Magnificent bike.  If they remake the 750 and 600 like that, I'm trading my SV in on a 600.

the local dealers around here will have nothing to do with letting people test ride anything

Aurora Suzuki.  I've bought enough bikes from them that they let me out on the bigger ones.  I tell them when I'm not intending to buy one, and they're good with that.

I should mention that the power is ludicrous.  Only the people who get paid a lot of money to ride bikes need power of that magnitude.

now if you can just get your hands on a yoshi 750, we're getting married.

Same with Orca Bay Suzuki, everytime I'm there they are trying to get me to test ride all these other bikes and toys. so far 2004 gsx-r 600, 2004 gsx-r 750, 2004 sv650s, 2005 ltz 250, 2005 rm125, 2005 rm250, 2005 rm-z250, 2005 rm-z450. next I wanna try gsx-r 1000 and maybe a busa.
I am amazed that I am still content with the gsF after riding all those bikes.

It's a faboo street bike.  Hard to beat.

When the other two are fully paid off, I will be sorely tempted to trade in the SV on a GSX-R; it will be a very fun track bike.  I think it will end up being whichever one (600, 750, 1000) I can find used for a decent price at that point in time (a year or two).  Any of them will be far faster than my capabilities.

soon as I'm 17 I think I'm gonna buy a 20th ann 750. If I bought a 600 I would want to uprgrade within a month anyways.

um..ya...sure ya would.. Matter of fact, I don't think you should even fool with a 750. Thats a girly bike.  Might as well be a scooter. I'd go right for the GSX-R 1000, or even the GSX-R 1300. Sure insurance is steeper, but if you ride careful and are as good of a rider as you sound like you are, you won't even NEED insurance.      

yeah some of my "friends" don't even ride with plates if they are going to be stupid. 750 is ideal for me, i'm not a tall guy so hopefully by 17 i will have grown a bit. first mod would be power commander ecu and the clutchless shift kit from dynojet/powercommander.

Glad you enjoyed the bike.  I'll wait a few years to seriously consider anything like that, but sounds like a great time.

I've test ridden a few bikes now and seriously, I have not ridden one that I would consider trading in the GS for.  It's not to say that any of them were not better in any way (except the Buell blast that is a piece of crap), but they were just not right for me.

The f4 was maybe the closest thing that I would consider.  The CBR600RR was a little less comfortable and also just too impractical.  The power band is in the 13000 rom range which you can barely reach before exceeding all speed limits.  Like Roadstergal says though, about the GSXR1000, it's just not practical.  It was easy to control around town as well though.

Interceptor - nice but I like the f4 better.
Bandit 600 - comfy but heavy and slow
SV1000 - awesome everything but killer on your wrists and neck
Buells - crap, I've ridden about 6 of 'em and most of them I couldn't get into neutral after the ride.  They also look and feel cheap.  Lots-o-torque though!!!!
V-rod - nice bike but 25g's
SV650 track bike - great for hunting down R6's
DUC 620 - mmm OK 2x the price of GS500.

Have you done some track days with your SV?

I went on a one day riding school and they used SV650's GSXR600's and R6's for track bikes.  They all had hindle exhausts.  I was able to catch and pass alot of the guys on gixxer's and R6's while riding the SV.  Maybe not all of them were trying  hard but some of them must have been.  I think they were also wondering what kind of beast was catching them because wth that hindle exhaust it sounds like a monster.

You may want to consider a pipe and other mods to your SV before giving it up.

the first kick is at 9k...and first gear is good for 75mph at 15.5k...

Pablo, do you even street your RR anymore?  From the picture in your sig, it looks like you've put race bodywork on it.  If it's track-only now, what are you riding on the road?

street ride my RR? not much anymore. I do have track bodywork I use when I do trackdays-race upper, prerashed OEM tank cover/tail/side fairings. When I have trackdays 3-4 weeks apart I get lazy and dont swap the bodywork, meaning I dont ride the bike on the street. These days I am desperate to ride the street every chance I get just so I wont toss the current tires, which are bald on one side, with less than the current 1000 miles they have...I have to get new tires before 8/29 trackday.

I've only put 3k miles on it since last christmas and easily 2k of those are track miles...

Just for fun I compared what my insurance would be for the gixxer 1000 instead of my GS.  $3200 instead of $800.  Whoo.
