It looks kinda sorta like the camera Ed_in_Az bought a while back.  He sent me some pretty nice pictures from it.  You might ask him if his is anything like this one.

I don't take a whole lot of picture and generally I am not very good at it.  Plus I like the movie feature.............???????

Well you dont need to get that camera for the movie feature. My canon A70 has a movie feature with sound and takes pretty good pics. You can get an Canon A95 or something with movie and it will be a lot better than that camera.

what's your budget?

I really don't want to spend over 150 bucks

RVertigo

Just get a cheapy Aiptek one...  3.1 MPix

The pics aren't that bad and you can make movies (with sound :P ).......

No flash really SUCKS though.

The DXG has a flash and I can get it at Radio Shack for 130 bucks

look into this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7006438&type=product&productCategoryId=cat04002&id=1099392227960

its at best buy - camera model is Olympus 425. Its a 4mega pixel camera with movie (not sure if it does audio with it) but it can record a movie for 2 minutes with onboard 14mb ram or you put more ram and it can record till that gets full.

If you buy it from Best Buy online, you get 10% off and free shipping. So what you do,  buy it online and go pick it up in store.. get the 10% off with that :)

edit: damn thing has digital zoom, the prior model i was looking at had optical zoom.

If you go to <200 range you got lots more choices with optical zoom. Most for under 180. Check best buy.

edit2: also check www.circuitcity.com for models available and reviews. I bleieve teh apitek one has digital zoom, int hat case the olympus will work fine.. but i nitpick and i want real zoom - optical zoom.

edit3: circuitcity has the FujiFinepix A345 for 159$ after all the discounts oline.. :)

You're gonna get what you pay for. If it's $150 you want to spend, then expect it to be cheap build quality and sub-par image quality. Still, from looking at those specs, it seems $150 would be a fair price to pay when comparing it to the Aiptek products.

I've got a Poloroid PDC 4055 4.2 megapixel digital camera. I paid like $124.50 for it on sale at Circuit City; it was a good deal and well worth the money spent. It does video w/sound and all that. The picture quality can be great if you can "harness" it (you know what you are doing). However, it is kind of difficult to use and is a battery hog.

At work, I use a Nikon 5000 (difficult to use also) and a Kodak Easyshare 7530. The 7530 or similar might be worth looking into, I dunno if it has video capabilities or not but I am sure it does. It was under $200 and takes better pictures a LOT easier than the PDC 4055 I have does.

If I were going to go buy a new digital camera in the $150 range, I'd look at the Kodak Easyshare's. SO EASY TO USE and they take respectable pictures. :thumb:

It does indeed.  You can choose between 320x240 or 640x480 resolution.

Yep.  The camera that I used to take nearly all of the pics on my website was a 3MP Kodak EasyShare DX4330.  Back in May I picked up a 5MP EasyShare CX7530, like Phaedrus mentioned.  On sale at Staples for $169.

This thread shows some of the pictures I took on the camera's maiden voyage.  (MUCH reduced in size!)

I went ahead and got the DXG.  I probably could have gotten something a little more advanced.  It took me about 5 mins to learn how to use it, even without the manual.  It is tiny too.  The main reason I wanted it is that Mon. I will be putting on the Wileyco, with the help of my neighbor, and I wanted to document it. :)   Plus I realized I really don't have a photographic record of about the last 4 years of my life. :(

hope you enjoy it.  I really miss my olympus, it melted when my apt burnt down.  It was great, now i am still saving for a new one....

let us know and see how it works  :)

Mine's a different brand, Korean. Bought a 512mb card for it. It does pics, vids(with sound), mp3s, webcam, and just plain storage.

For the $, you probably did fine and will enjoy it. The fact they're small is a plus on a bike too.
