:D Those look great. Are you going to do the same to the front? I like the look, kind of like the clear aftermarket ones but much sharper looking. I might have to get some but be warned I will lie to everyone saying I was the first to do it and Pablo copied me. J/K

Ha!  I might be the first GS person to have installed Buell rear signals on his/her GS.  I installed mine in summer 2000.  When I bought it (used) it had small colorless signals (aftermarket) & colorless bulbs, which I'm not even sure are legal as signals in OH, so I went with the Buells.
Cheap too, around $6 each.
I just never took any photos of the bike.

:o  Those look awesome!!!  For that price, I think I'll be doing the mod as well this summer.  One question Pablo - do you know if they will mount okay in the stock location?  I still have my fender.

Also, to Pam, I'm from OH also and the signals have to be amber on the front and amber or red on the back for cagers, I think bikes are the same.

Pam,
If you check my site you'll see I gave yo uspecial thanks for pointing this mod out to me or something like that. I don't want to take credit for something that isn't mine. It was a brilliant idea since they look good and are cheap! What I want to know is on the yellow gs you have, did you polish the edges of the rims or paint them light?

Scott,
They aren't going to look especially good on teh stock holes becasue the stalks are actually rectangular and smaller than stock. I still have another pair for the front and I haven't cut the fender further (dremel calling to me...) so I'll line them up and give you my opinion of that.  The stock stalks have a black plastic washer that helps keep it in the odd shaped hole inteh fender (keeps it horizontal)...you might sandwich that between the buell signal and the fender. I'm considering doing that for the front...good luck.

Only problem I've found so far is that the bulbs are in fact different wattages and that affects how fast the blinkers flash. I'm going to look for replacement bulbs of same wattage that will fit in Buell (smaller) and still be 21w. That will bring flashing back to normal. I may just leave it too-depends how difficult it is to find bulbs. I'll get back to you on that-Pam, what did you do about that, if anything?

Sorry, I didn't view your attachment yesterday before I posted!  I don't remember mentioning that mod on the GS board.
I can't quite remember if bulbs came with the Buell signals, or which ones I got.  I have noticed that the dash signal indicator flashes at different rates at times when a signal is blinking.  I think it blinks faster when I am perhaps waiting at a light to turn left, while holding the clutch lever in, then blinks slower as I release the lever an accelerate.  I never gave much thought to different wattages.
But then, just maybe the signals blinking at different rates will make drivers behind me more alert!

Scott-stock rear holes in fender are not completely covered by new Buell turn signals. You could install them there anyway and push them all the way to topside of oblong hole. That way it isn't really noticable. The Buell signal does cover the existing hole front to back but not top to bottom since it's oblong.

your site has been VERY helpful to me. infact, it lead me to this site. once i saw those sm bars i HAD to have them, then when i found out my bars were bent i bought them (i guess i was looking for any excuse). and the sv650 shock replacement that was helpful, but you might want to add that you HAVE to cut the bottom clevis of the shock or it will NOT fit. but thanks to my dremel and a drill that was an easy fix! as far as looking through old posts, it makes me that much smarter when it comes to my gs. and i figure why ask a question someone has already answered?

Has anyone thought about self-cancelling signals? not cancelling is a very common fault and I'll hold up my hand. Pablo's site is very informative especially to us foreigners who did not realise the stock US model had different size jets etc, and could not understand the fascination with the mod, all is now clear. looks great pablo, it was one of the first mods i did to my 2001 and i love the short stalk and the faster flashing the buells give out.  and for 6 bucks each it is a very inexpensive mod.  worst part is that i had to go to the harley store to get them, but the buell bikes made up for all the age crisised people there.
Whoo! Lets do it again, Rock 'n Roll
