Yup, thats what I do too. If I am going inside somewhere for something, I'll use the under-seat helmet lock. But if I am next to the bike, warming it up and getting the rest of my gear on, I'll hang it on the left passenger foot peg.
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

When I'm getting on the bike, I put all of my gear except for the helmet and gloves on before I leave.  I pick the helmet and gloves off of my table, go to the bike, sit on it, put the gloves on the tank or the tree, put on the helmet, and put on my gloves.  When I'm done riding, I take the helmet with me.  When do y'all need to hang it somewhere?

was this thread supposed to be about where to put your spare helmet while riding for a soon to be passenger? if not maybe its for where you hang it when you leave the bike and do not take it with you. either way i do neither. no passengers and i carry the helmet normally it can get real hot hanging around outside for a while.

If i am resting up on a long ride or otherwise beside my bike, say it is warming up, i put it on the left passenger footpeg like many others here.  I use the lock under the seat if i am going into somewhere real quick and need both hands.  Otherwise it tags along with me.

 There's a scene that's pretty much the only part of this movie worth watching...

You would need to get a top box and put it in there. Or you could bungy tie it too the rear seat but top box would be better.

under the seat there is a clip that the D ring on your helmet fits onto and when the seat is down it is locked there. They say you are not supposed to but I ride with a helmet locked there if I'm going to be picking someone up.

I bought a cheap cable lock and I strap my helmet to my bars. I have a cargo net over the rear of the seat and it is a pain to take that off, then the seat, attach the helmet and then reassemble. Then do it all over again when I come back. I have a tank bag that I keep the lock in when not in use.
