On My new to me 94 GS500E , the front forks feel really soft, and only have about 2" of travel left with me on it (I weigh 180) which is not enough in my opinion...

So I pulled one fork off last night so I can make a longer spacer, and couldn't believe what a spindley little short spring was in it....I've NEVER seen such a short, wimpy looking spring in a set of forks....

So tell me what everyone does to make it better...

I'm going to try to make a spacer 1 1/2" longer and install it with fresh fork oil, but would like to hear what everyone else is running in thiers...

Thanks in advance...

Put in progressive springs from Progressive Suspension - they run about $70 at www.accwhse.com . Run a search for progressive springs in Kerry's posts, he's posted a direct link to the item # you need several times.

Thanks,
I'm going to try the spacers first, as they're free, but will probably end up with the Progressive springs later...

Just do the fork springs first because you will end up kicking yourself that you basically had to do the same job twice to get the result you wanted the first time   :thumb:
