..won't my bike start?  It's been giving me trouble all week.  I replaced the air filter, cleaned the carbs, recharged the (new)battery, and replaced the spark plugs(I did this all as how described in my service manual).  The previous owner replaced the fuel lines and de-rusted the gas tank (about a year ago).  

So, I turn on the ignition and the lights come on.  I put the bike in neutral, then put the kill switch in the RUN position, give it full choke, pull in the clutch and press start = cranking and cranking but no firing.

In the past if these were the symptoms I could put in it first instead of neutral, push the bike and it would start while moving.  

But now that doesn't work.  What should I do?

there is a procedure to follow when figuring this out. Since you can't push start it any more, you probably have a fuel or spark problem.

IIRC, this is how you do it: try to start the bike. Since it's not working, pull the spark plugs. If they aren't wet, you aren't getting fuel into the cylinder. If they are wet, check for spark. I suspect a fuel problem- perhaps you pinched a hose when you put the tank back into place.

weird, I've been having the very same problem for a fe weeks, I just haven't had time to work on my bike as school and work kinda get in the way  

I might just give in and haul my bike over to Olathe Suzuki tomorrow..

I agree with the kinked fuel line idea.  Sometimes it's tricky getting the line packed back in there neatly and kink-free.  It's an easy thing to check, too.

How well did it run when you last had it going? Any lack in power or problems with the idle?

I also think its a fuel flow issue ... you may also have a rusty tank and clogged tank petcock, as well as clogged carbs ... BTW de rusting isn't permanent ... you'd have to coat it else it will come back ... and that freaking rust ... gets everywhere ... there was this guy that was telling me he had a bike that was coating the exhaust with powder that when you touch it ... turns brown ... from black ... evidently the rust was getting through the motor ... yikes, getting sprayed with carbon and combustion by products ... and gets smattered in the exhaust ... and you touch it and carbon being finer ... comes off in your hand and rust is left underneath.

That's true.  You literally have to get *every* single molecule of oxidized metal (rust) scraped off or else you'll have wasted your time.  This is because ions flow so freely through amonst the metal atoms that rust on any part of whatever metal object its on (like a gas tank) can cause more rust on any other part of that object.

I did see a picture on the net of a guy who rhino coated his tank and tail section.   Ugh, ugly, and probably doesn't do all that much to prevent eventual rusting.

I don't think there's a pinched fuel line, b/c I haven't taken the bike apart for about 4 weeks.  It ran fine for the first two weeks...

I checked the spark plugs, and they are, dry..

did you switch the fuel lines and run her down to completly empty then try to switch to res?

Uh, this may be way too obvious, but it wasn't mentioned: did you turn the petcock to PRI first? Could this not just be empty carbs?

it could be, around here noting is too obvious and easy to forget.

If that fails, pull out the filters and spray down some carb cleaner. Another problem that has happened to me more than once is stuck slides. If it gets dusty, or for whatever other reason, the slides can stick on you and prevent starting.
