I wonder if this would be worth anything. There's a '92 GSX-R motor on CL for under $1K. Hmmm

Just curious (I'm not really rolling in extra cash right now)...could that be used to make a good bike? It could be a fun winter project. Or a huge disaster.

Actually, in that second link (for the Gixxer parts), there's a Yosh for $100 OBO. Should I offer him $80 for it if it's in good shape?

By the way, no snipers on this if it is good; I have super-secret dibs!  ;)

OK, I got this pic of the exhaust. Should I pick it up, and at what price?

Oh, and he is going to cut off a part of the stock pipe, which may come in handy. Anyone got an idea on this? I'd love to get it for a winter project when i have money for a flange and rejet.

Under $100 for a Yosh with part of a stock Gixxer Sixxer pipe sounds pretty good time me. Srinath, Pantablo, Kerry...anyone: Should I pursue?  :dunno:

Kerry

My bike is still stock, except for a drop-in K&N air filter, so I have no aftermarket exhaust experience at all.

Anyone?

I'm shocked at the lack of responses to this post. So NOBODY knows if I should buy this for $90 and have it welded on at a shop? Not to be a noob and keep bumping, but I really am curious what the pros here think.

You serious or drunk?  ;) If the latter, then lucky you. 2 more hours til freedom...

So pick it up for $90 then? He's waiting on me. I am leaning towards yes.

no i'm soberish. go get it and get a stock headder from someone off here and have a shop weld them together, and you could probably turn around and get 200 for the full thing.

Or I could get a nice aftermarket exhaust for a little over $100...

Just an idea.

OOOPPS posted in another thread an answer to this.

Dave, that pipe in the picture is riveted or screwed to the "feed" pipe.  So the feed is probably mild steel with an aluminum "can".

The Buddha

Fitting it is easy. ID of that pipe can be spread to slide on your header if its too small, or your pipe can be spread to fit tight inside it ... if its too large ... 2 mins, I would be able to have any muffler place do it for under $10. YMMV.
Cool.
Srinath.

Sorry, a few questions in regards to that post. First, are you saying that I should indeed get it for $90? Second, is the ID the Intake Diameter?    :dunno: I have no idea. Third, are you saying I may be able to do it with no welding? Does that affect the performance at all?

Oh, and YMMV? I'm not familiar with that one.

Thanks guys,

$90 is ok.  If you're going to have a shop weld it up for you be sure to figure that expense in.

Instead you should purchase my Supertrapp exhaust for $200  :)

That brings up a good point. Would it be wiser to buy the Gixxer can for $90, buy the Supertrapp fpr $200 (assuimng it's a full system), or just wait. I do not mind waiting.

Make a decision. You're like my girlfriend... haha

Do what YOU feel is what YOU want to do. If YOU think it is a good price then thats all that matters. If you are hell bent on getting a gixxer exhaust, then that is a good option. You'll have to get the can and check the diameter of the pipe, or ask him. Then go from there. Or make it all easy and get a Vance & Hines.

Yeah, I have been known to get extreme cases of buyer's remorse. I hate thinking I am getting a good deal and then finding out I was wrong. But who doesn't?  :dunno:

I'll pass and just get one later. shaZam!, I got a ticket for doing 65 in a 60 this morning, so I can use the money for that.  ;)
