Okay.  My grandpa has been gone since '93.  She is dating a good friend of the family!  My grandma is 76 (a young 76), and the guy she is dating is a 70 year old.  

I am really happy for her, because I don't want her to be alone for the rest of her life.  So that is good ( ). . . but I can't allow my mind to think about it beyond that.     Just, way, way, way too strange!  

How would you guys feel about that?

I say, "YOU GO GIRL!!!!!"  

I think it's wonderful. No need to think about anything beyond her being happy!

It was funny, my mom called today, just back from a month long stint in Mueller State Park, CO.

It went like this:

Mom: So, have you been dating anyone.

Jake: Sheeeeshhh.  No.  No, not really.

Mom: Well have you talked to grandma?  She's dating Dave!

Jake: WHAT???

So odd.  Grandma is going to movies, dinner, museums.  Maybe she'll lighten up on me about going out so much.  She is forever giving me a Bible for Christmas, bookmarked at Romans 8.  Maybe when she realizes how hard it is "to be out there" we can share a common bond!

My grandma has been gone for almost  10 yrs and my grandpa started dating fairly shortly after she died.  My uncles got suspicious one day and while grandpa and date were out of town they went to his house to discover that grandpa had several Empty bottles of Viagra.  So basically grandpa is getting more action than I am.  How sad I am 25 and my grandpa is 79!!!

last time i visited my Uncle Wally, i found out he was dating (my Aunt passed away in 96).  the great thing is his girlfriend has the same name his wife did, so he doesn't have to worry about blurting out the wrong name.

Nothin' strange about grandparents dating, some things take a little longer but generally that's fine.

Go Grandma!  

Yeah, I'm very happy for her.  It was the same strange feeling after my parents divorced and my mom started dating my step dad.  I was happy for her, but it just takes some getting used to.  

It is one of those, "smile and shake your head" type feelings.

Well, I think it makes the happiness even more complete when those around us are accepting and nurturing.

Your gramma dating is no big deal.  The shocker is that I'm dating.  


I was talking yesterday with a guy I know who bought his mom's house from her.  He said he's going to make his bedroom her old bedroom.  I just could not have nookie in a place where I know my parents used to.

My brother is the creepy one in the family...  He used to screw his girlfriends in our parent's bed...  Just wrong.  In fact...  He screwed his girlfriends in my bed too...  Bastard!

When my grandpa died, my grandma ended up dating and marrying his brother not too long after. Normal? No.  

My dad's side of the family is all kinds of weird. Isn't that the story with everyone?
