Does anyone ever take out the jet with the carbs on the bike by just droping the bowl and doing the jets from under side.Looks like it would be easier than pulling the tank.

not really unless you have a magic screwdriver to get to the inside bowl screws.

scratch

It's not magic, it's using your sense of feel to feel for the screw with your fingers, locating it, and using a right-angle screwdriver bar or a screwdriver socket attachment for a 3/8th drive ratchet. Some have replaced those philips screws with allen head screws to prevent rounding out the screws and would make it even easier to remove the bowls while the carbs are still mounted on the bike. Shoot, I've taken the bowls off with the original screws (but I probably wont do it again; too scary)!

although if you have never taken the screws out before they tend to freeze in there and are best removed with a hand impact.

I just cleaned mine but did not have new jets to put in them having to order them so I just wanting to change them also notice a small leak where the line goes in to the T it would be easier to tighten with bowls off.

but then again removing the two bolts from the tank and proping it up in order to remove the carb, airbox assembly might be simpler

Allen heads on the bowls, and here is your magic screwdriver for the jet itself:

Ru 2970 = lunch box = 150/40/1/3.

No. Nobody has been able to get that setup to work.

You can run the RU-2970 with stock exhaust but the jetting is roughly 130-135's on the mains.  It also helps to drill 4 holes in the stock can but you don't have to.

My bike liked 135's with stock pilots and no washers under the needles with the stock exhaust.  With this combo, drilling four holes in the exhaust can netted me almost 2 tenths in the quarter mile.

If your bike runs badly with stock jetting, stock airbox, and stock exhaust, richer jetting isn't going to help.  Find out what's wrong first.  Rejetting is an upgrade, not a fix.

It is starfing for gas it runs great idle and runs great a full but the mid is what suxs.I also am going to do another surper clean of the carb and take the tank off and clean it also the filter I put in the other day already has trash in it from the tank  :x . But even at 65 mph and 70 you can fill it saying more fuel.

Hell i just filed mine out with a torch file kit and payed special attn. to how much i filed the main and the pilot. Then i just made sure i filed them equally, left the needle set where it was and with a new pipe I could not believe the improvment over stock jetting. Most people thought i was crazy for doing this but it was an old school trick shown to me by a freind , and older mech. anyway if you fail and screw up your jets , go to bellssuzuki.com there like 6 bucks a peice for oem jets. Just becareful not to file too much. Do less ride for about a week, check your plugs color for jetting mix , it took me 3 times to get a paper sac brown color after i done mine before i got it right with k&n singles, and a pipe i ran really lean. the bike idles smooth throttle response is much better and just plain runs better. I think its safe to say i got an easy 10% gain. A dyno kit may work better but im happy with what i got out of mine enough i dont wanna mess with it.
