So I've been dreaming and I figure that in less than 2 years I am going to get a new bike and I want to know what people think of the Triumph Daytona 650.

oppy00

I like it.  I think I like all the new Triumphs, though.  I'd rather have the Sprint ST though, probably non-ABS, just to save money.  The body work on the Daytona is a little too angular for me, but I'd still ride one.  Not too mention, everybody has a Gixxer, CBR, Ninja, or R-6.  The Daytona has flair. :thumb:

Finally got a good job.  Hooray me!!!

I still love beer.  Hooray me!!!

There are rumors about a 680cc triple coming from Triumph pretty soon.  I'm not sure if it will replace the Daytona 650 or not, but that's another one to keep in mind if you like Triumph's offerings.

I like the Thruxton, Bonneville, and Speed Triple.  SWEET!

Words of caution: beware of the parts cost on the triumphs, just paid $179 for a fuel pump :o   Their bodywork is really expensive also. On the other hand, the sound of the triple, especially on over run is intoxicating. I really wonder if that triple would replace the 650? That bike has gotten great reviews.

You know the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear....

Seriously though, the Daytona is a killer bike, I rode one 2 months ago, much more juice than the YZF-600 I was considering buying.  But if you can afford it, the new Speed Triple (or the old one for that matter), is about as close as a motorcycle can come to godliness, comfortable, fast as hell, good power in any gear... lovely.

how bout the '06 Daytona 675?

My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

!!! IS THAT REAL!?

Hot damn. I would LOVE a small displacement triple, but since Triumph's are expensive as all hell, and probably not as reliable as I need, it's out of the question :(

I always thought Triumphs were sold cheaper than their Japanese counterparts.  Daytona 600s were going for about $1,000 less than their Japanese counterparts.  Also, resale apparently isn't very good - that's why I was able to afford my Speed Four!  I bought it used.

Parts are expensive, but a lot of them are interchangeable with the Japanese bikes.  You can find replace many of the Triumph OEM parts with Kawasaki or Yamaha parts.

I would LOVE a baby triple.  Naked, preferably.  Racing Yellow, just like my Speed Four  :thumb:

If that pic of the 2006 Triumph Daytona Triple 675 is correct, I'm not very impressed. Not as unique as the 650 is in my opinion.

Will have to keep eyes open for the Daytona 675 at the Detroit MC Show this winter and try it on for size.  Comfort and price are most important, and then there's still that "distance to the dealer" problem to contend with.

Eye candy, that.

I'm not suck a fan of the 675, I love the ram air intake on the 650 and I FREAKING hate undertail exhausts a) I don't care enough about the aerodynamics of my bike to worry about a little bit more air resistance as I'm not racing b) where's the styling pipe? Oh there it is hiding underneath my arse. Just me. Anyone else feel the same about the undertail? (I do agree with it for racing)

Yea I hate the undertail pipes too ... and that huge ass bend up in the header pipe to get the exhaust shoved in there (I have seen some clown's do it on R6's SV's ) doesn't look ugly at all ... if you're freaking blind ... not at all ugly ... moron.
Yea easy access to it cos you're dicking wiht it every few months - huge plus ... so regular open and exposed pipe gets my huge  :thumb: .

+1 Agree. :thumb: Give me a unique looking side exhaust anytime. I think this is why I'm so in love with the 2006 R6 exhaust.
