Well as Im sure some of you know I recently sold my pristine 93 GS 500 to jimbo1, well I bought another bike yesterday to replace my long gone GS.  My new bike is a 2001 SV650S, found it over on svrider.  It is in pretty much new condition, it only has 2000 miles on it and has much of the stock items left on it, which is good and bad since the tires are kind of old but oh well.  Rode the bike about 150 miles yesterday and had a blast, although I do miss my GS quite a bit, man that thing would carve corners, I think in the long run I will like this SV just as much.  It just needs a few performance modifications, one of the first being a big front suspension change, probably just springs and oil but in its stock state the thing is just plain terrible, it does ride nice over bumps but thats it, nose dive is I think worse then the GS.  Oh well, that will be fixed with time, I decided to attach a few pics of my new bike and just say that even though I dont have a GS anymore Ill probably check in here as much as I always have, Ive been punching in gstwin.com for the last 3 years its just a way of my life now :dunno:

Looks good mang, I'd look for you when I'm back in IA for a cousin's wedding in October, but they are up in the north east corner.

Enjoy the new bike and keep us updated on the mods as they show up.

You HAVE to check in, how else will you know how the GS is doing?  My daughter is dying to ride it, but its not happening.  She has my wife's height gene, and can barely touch the ground when its on the side stand.

Oh and nice bike, my brother (the one you met), says the SV is one of the best all around bikes to get.  He worked for a suzuki dealer and got to check out everything that came out.  Plus a couple of bikes that he installed turbos on.

Congratulations. If I ever got another "Sport" type bike it might well be an SV650. I like V-Twin type power delivery and they look nice.  8) Either that or a V-Strom.  :thumb:
