I'm most worried about breaking my back...

Nearly all other broken bones will heal...  I've known a few people that broke their backs and they'll never be the same.

Not to mention being paralyzed from breaking your back.

Smashing my head enough that I know I'm screwed up and can't do anything about it.  If I was so screwed up that I didn't know the difference, that wouldn't really bother me.

I absolutely agree. You wont catch me on a bike unless I have my helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, and jeans on.

I'm gonna go ahead and not look at that. I have a feeling (literally and figuratively) that I don't want to know that info. The only talk of purple I can take is Pandy's bike. Let's keep my garbage out of it.

I'll speak for a guy that I made a run on a couple of days ago with the fire department:

A van pulled out in front of a sport bike (no gear), sending the motercyclist face first into the windshield before hitting the pavement.  The impact was so strong there was a permanent imprint of his face in the windshield.  Needless to say...wear the gear...it's good for you.

As for me...I worry most about my hands.  I've never heard much about helmets failing, but it seems that glove protection is a little hit and miss sometimes.

idiots buying gloves that look cool not gloves that function.

I can't think of any part of my body that I wouldn't miss.

left pinky toe?

If it's all the same, I'd rather keep it.

Hard to decide with me, but it would have to be my head( brain function). You can live without an arm or leg but I try not to think about losing any body parts,  it takes the fun out of riding. :dunno:

I have yet to wreck or hit anything on my GS but my when I had my ATV's I hit all kind of animals and had a wrecks.    Animals I hit with the quads were 1 deer, more rabbits than I could count, 1 skunk, 2 ground hogs, chipmunks, couple opossums, a Racoon and the funniest was the beaver .  I rode it a lot at night because I used to take ride them to work so 80% were probably hit at night.

The deer was the scariest, just barely caught it with the front right running about 30-35 mph.  520 lb ATV + 215 lb rider versus deer = Polaris won.  I hurt my right wrist and chest when I hit the handle bars and then racked my nutty buddies.  

I rolled my Blaster while hitting the beaver.  I was flying down a trail that ran along a creek, 6th gear wide open throttle when it popped up on the trail.  When I locked the brakes up the quad went side ways and caught a small log and rolled right on top of the beaver.  I was stoved up for about a week on that one.  Beaver poop stinks too :lol:

Hmmmm, I would not want to hurt my wife and kids. I think if I went down hard and something would happen I would want to be seen by them in the state I would be in. And that would bring me more pain then loosing any one or more body parts.
