at about 1500 miles i noticed that my chain was a bit loose. their was 2 inches of slack and the owner's manual recomends between .8 inches to 1.2 inches. i adjusted the slack and that was that. Now my bike is going on 2600 miles and i've noticed that the chain is once again loose.  im kind of a newb and was just wondering if this was normal. is it natural for the chain to gain slack over time or do i have a problem.

check to see if your rear tire is moving around. after the first 1000 you should have about 80% of the strech out of the chain.
