Old Mr. Wilson

If you like a cheap looking motorcycle meaning LOTS of plastic, hell buy a GS500F!!!!!!! Hell...........go buy one of those plastic crotch rockets offered by ALL the manufacturers designed to get your hard earned money....
Do you envision all the women impaled on your 18 inch phallus?
How 'bout........all the townspeople have turned out to cheer you across the finish line.........(the one in your mind)
Do you imagine all the little boys wanting to "grow up" and "be you"....
Then by all means...........buy that bastard bike!!!

It still looks cheap in spite of the price. Hope this helps. Love, Wilson
Taxes are Good. Millions that have been on Welfare for the last 30 years are depending on you. Also Millions that are coming over the border each year are depending on YOU.
Also taxes will fix our shitty schools and roads that have been broken for 40+ years.

You really don't get it do you???

Wilson, sometimes you just make me laugh. It's hard to take you seriously sometimes. It really is.   He already has a GS500F, as shown in his picture, and in the title of this thread.

ANYWAY, I think thats a nice sporty looking bike. I am assuming it would be a track bike? It would compliment your other Kawi, thats for sure.

It would suck to see you depart the GS community, though.

Damn that's a good price. Wish so much they did the SV with a full fairing. Then there wouldn't be any any doubt about what my next bike would be.

Factory lowers are about 400 bux.  There are also less expensive third-party kits out there.  I went with the factory lowers for my SV, and I think it looks killer  :thumb:

I really like the 650 R.  I love the location of the rear shock.  That looks really cool.

There's two things wrong with this bike:
#1 - Ninja.  So cliched and dorky.

#2 - Full fairings.  It's a standard-style bike with sportbike appearance.  Take all that crap off and it'd be a great alternative to the SV650.

I bet it would look better without the plastic. :thumb:

Sounds like a GS500F. And I love the GS, naked or faired, it's a good bike either way  :thumb:

And, remembr the suspension on the Kawi is just as adjustable as the suspension on the GS.

I like the looks of the SV with lowers better, but I do like the Buell-style lower exhaust on the kwak.  I'd rather have a V-twin than the parallel anyday, too, just for the sound alone.

The Kawasaki 650's lookin' goood!  Can't wait for Honda and Yamaha to jump into this hot market segment.

But, no, the exhaust is really not  Buell-style.  The Buell exhaust is located underneath the engine, not to the side like in the posted pic.  It's more like a mid-80s Yamaha    :

The factory lowers on the SV650 look freakin' sweet, but they need to update the headlight on the SV to look a little more modern. I'd also like to see a stubby little exhaust like the one found on the 2006 GSX-R600/750 or R6. Yeah, I prefer the exhaust on the 650R also.

Go google up a few other pictures of the exhaust collector on that bike - it sits under the entire frame of the bike, it does not just peek out to the side like the exhaust on a Hawk GT or the other bikes you've pictured.

Oh hell, I'll do it for you:

Where's the rolleyes now?

Okay, the Kaw 650R is able to tuck in a little tighter thanks to its stylish bullet-tip muffler.  What you can't see in the Yam SRX picture is that most of its muffler is actually an expansion chamber behind the engine.  I'm guessing that the Kaw 650R will have a similar set-up to compensate for its shorty muffler-exhaust.   The Buell, in contrast, has its muffler centered underneath the engine and terminates ahead of the rear tire (which it would otherwise come in contact with).  It looks vulnerable and misplaced, IMHO.  That's not to say that Buell didn't inspire this latest exhaust fashion trend, just that this Ninja version is not much different than what  the SRX offered in the recent past.

I like the 650R but I bet the insurance is going to be higher simply because it comes fully faired always.  Since the SV comes without fairings unless you order them the insurance sees it as a naked bike, even if you get the optional fairings :thumb:
