I heard on the news that this class 5 hurricane might totally submerge padre island and galveston..

I also heard that some oil refineries down there might be affected..

I just got back from the gas station, topped off the tank in my toyota and filled 4 gas cans at 2.56 a gallon, just to be on the safe side..
Whattaya guys think, is this gonna be a repeat of katrina?

with almost 20 refineries in the galveston/houston area that make 25% of our nations gas its going up, and going up today.  This storm stands to effect the refineries much worse than katrina.  If a refinery evacuates, its take a week to come back online.  Get your gas now, cuase its going up esp. in the south.

Now that TV, radio etc. have been telling us how much gas will be going up. It's gonna go up even before there is any damage.

If Rita turns and hits Mexico do we get our money back?

According to Fortune magezine, ExxonMobile is ranked 2005's most profitable corporation. hmm. It is interesting how it can be so profitable, considering all the "bad luck" oil companies have run into with the trouble in the Middle East, the storms down south, the lack of refineries.. :dunno:
