Taffy sucks.  Well, that awful salt water taffy.  I'd rather eat my own ear wax.

Hey Cal, I've got three of my friends staying in KC for a few months.  They are all from New Zealand.  We are having a cultural arguement.
When it is raining, I sometimes say that it is "sprinkling", and they roar with laughter because they think it sounds less than manly(they would say "ghey").
But when they refer to their shirts or my shirt, they call it a "top" (we are all men).  I think that sounds really less than manly if you know what I mean.
Which is worse?  For me to say "sprinkling" (which they refer to as spitting), or to call a guys shirt a top?  Is this something that would draw attention to me in the UK?

Well A squid is a squid is a squid ... Usually the GS-F is bought by wanna be GSXR 1000 riders who dont have the credit to buy one of those ... none the less they think they are on one ...
Cool.

My GSF is turning into a GSE. I'll second what Srinath said, sometimes GSF riders get it because they can't get a GSX-R1000 ($$$$$$). That, and people are retards. There are a bunch of kids around here on campus that run super squidly (flip flops, shorts, t-shirt, no helmet).

In UK "Sprinling" would be something that maybe a gardener would do with a watering can on delicate seedlings or someone taking a laboured leak. Light rain would be "spitting" The local expression used around here many many years ago was "dampening" which I rather like.

Shirt/Top. Top would be a very efeminate expression for a bloke, "Top" would be a female garment.
Blokes-Geezers-Mushes-Men-Lads were shirts without a doubt, those that are borderline not sure and said "top" might be accused of being "Shirtlifters"

Wonderful thing our language!

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

I didn't know I was a squid for buying something I liked.  :(

Hah, yeah really. I don't think the GS-F is squidly. A bike doesn't make someone squidly, the rider on it does.  :thumb: I qualified to buy any bike I wanted; even a Busa if I had chosen to do so. But I didn't; I chose a reasonable bike that I thought would be perfect for learning on. I don't think that is squidly at all  ;)
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Yea I'll second that Phaedrus...

I don't think Srinath was saying that owning a GS-F made you a squid.  Just that a lot of squids have them.  And a lot of people with GS-Fs are squids.  But not any of you guys.  :)

I have a feeling one of these days, there will be a thread like this about me.  :(

Sure, eight weeks go by, you sell two others and replace with three new and now you have seller's regret??.

Still, it's understandable.  I liked looking at your yellow GS500F in pictures with that pacific north-west backdrop.  Nothing looks faster when parked than a yellow bike.  :thumb:

Well if you were getting on 495 from Braddock between 10:30 and 11 pm, and you almost hit a car that was getting on the off ramp then it was you.

Couldn't have been. He has an '00. You witnessed a yellow '04 F with a fairing. Rtcpenguin doesn't have a fairing.
