That's not my real plate.   Its been (badly) photoshopped.

LIFE should NOT be a journey to the GRAVE with the intention of arriving SAFELY in an attractive and well PRESERVED body, but rather to SKID in sideways, CIGAR in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly USED UP, totally WORN OUT, and screaming WOW - WHAT A RIDE!

That might actually be the first white GS I've seen.

I really like the way the bike looks with no front fender.

Is there much of a downside to takeing it off?

But I kind of like the front fender too.

I'm another '89 owner.  Bought it off a woman who works at a Suzuki dealership for $200.  I put a few hundred in it and it purrs like a kitty now, even with 52+ K miles on it.  Thanks to people here who have helped me replace parts that were just worn out.  And mine is green...  If I find some webspace I will post photos, including of the weird eyes on the front of the tank (copied from a Tibeten temple, with the 'nose' upside down....).

only downside to having the fender off is you get a nice rooster tail that gives you a muddy stripe if the road is wet.

Most people would agree that you have a white owl, to honor Cernunos.

And most people would also agree that the '89 is the best year for the GS.

Looks like the one rotting away in my parking garage...

That reminds me...

Pearl black, 37K miles, dirty, and a peeling tank.  Otherwise the best factory color and graphics on a GS.  Evar.  ;)

Tab,
How did you get a pic of my bike?

Oh, that's not my bike, my rear wheel is cleaner than that!

Anyway, it's nice to see that some of these bikes stayed the way the factory put them together. I do have to admit, though, that some of the customizing that I've seen is x-tremely nice.

actually my front wheel fender has been replaced with black not the stock white.  she isn't in that great of shape - clear coat is starting to peel among other things but she still runs!

Ed89 -- love your 89!!  would suit me as i have red/black leathers:

Tab,
On closer inspection, I now notice the black front fender. Also, I see that your bike no longer sports the side marker reflectors (no doubt removed to save weight  ).

The last pic you posted is really neat. From the looks of the compressed fork, it appears that you've got a bit of speed going there.? :thumb:
