ok... I figured out my oil light problem... it was my oil filter (on backwards... doh!!!)!!!  When I flipped it around and put the cover on the light went off but it started to spew oil from between the filter cover and the filter housing!  Why??? Why??? oh why me!!!

there's a O-ring that goes there.

i had my o ring pinched just a little and it caused it to leak. since i've gotten a new o- ring they're only like $4 and well worth replacing if your looks worn out

thats what i was thinking to. he must have had to force a hole in th wrong side to get it around the little nipple thing it fits around (sorry about the technical talk) it kinda only fits one way and the cap probably wouldn't go back on causing the leak and no oil was going anywhere also.

If you want a good seal for the oil cover, put a bit of lithium grease in the groove that the seal ring fits in.

Don't overdo it, but enough to gush out a bit with the ring in, holding the ring in place and help make the seal.  Oh, and make the cap nuts snug, not too tight.  Let the grease do the job.

i did that same thing with the lithium grease but instead i used some halomar gasket goo in that groove and it worked great
