So today I go to drop off my bike for it's service, fill out the papers, she says she needs to see the bike to check for scrapes, marks, etc...so I bring it around to the side. My dad is there and says "He hasen't dropped it yet." Then guess what happens. I lay it down, forgot to put the kickstand down! Fortunatley I didn't mark up anything at all, didn't even crack the fairing! I couldn't believe it. I set it down as easily as I could. Now how many people have forgotten to put the kickstand down?

THat sucks! It has never happened to me yet. I've knocked my bike over 3-4 times though for a broad range of OTHER stupid mistakes, but not that one yet.  :thumb:

Why did they have to check it over to see if it had any damage?  :dunno:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

So I can't say they broke something or scratched something.

Only once and I caught it.

I have layed it down. It was on purpose. One day I  figured I need to practice my low speed manuvers. I have a nice grassy field in my back yard.

I set up a figure 8 and tightened it up till the bike stalled and dumped me.

I do this every now and again to keep me from getting cocky. The bike is never hurt, becasue I am lazy and don't mow my grass that often in the field.

Does anyone think that is strange of me? My H.D. riding friends do.

Yes to both question.

Had to look around real fast to make sure no one saw. no damage.

I want to see this figure eight track in the grass.

still got yall beat. rolling around with a group, cornering on my old GS750E, we all stop for gas and drinks, i deside my Air forks could use a couple more psi, so i roll over to the air hose, air up and toss the hose over my sholder back to the pump. i fire it up, put it in gear, roll off about 20 feet and something made me look behind just intime to see the Airline go tight. now i wasnt rolling very fast and it was the touch rubber hose not the cheap plastic crap, so i pull in the clutch and grab the brakes come to a stop, then put into neutral set side stand down kick a leg off and let go of the front brake, yup the hose was tight and pulled the bike back  outa my grip, it rolled about 4'  backwards and fell over. 7 of my friends holding sodas watching me from their bikes.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.

My moment of brilliance:  http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21187.  This was the day before I was taking it in for service.  Again...at least there was no one around to see.

lol, I feel your pain, man. First day I had my old '92, right before my FIRST ride on it (early early morning), I dropped it in the driveway. Nothing happened to it, as it had engine case guards, but still embarassing. I went inside an had a cup of coffee to wake myself up before attempting to do THAT again.

I also dropped the '04 one the first day I had it too. I was trying to put it up on the centerstand, but didn't realize there was a slope where I was, so I didn't get the centerstand's right foot down. It started to go up, stopped, came back down, and then decided it needed a nap. It put a small ding in the tank (easily fixed) and scratched the turn signal and fairing. I was so embarassed.

If you ever do dent your tank though, those AS SEEN ON TV!!! dent remover things work pretty well. I was quite impressed, as you could barely tell anything happened unless you looked at it in the EXACT right light.

Yeah, I thought if I were to do something like that it would have been in the first few days but it's been over a month and 600 miles. Has anyone used that skid peg things?

Do you mean peg feelers? I didn't think our bikes had peg feelers.
