GS *STOCK* dyno run anybody?

Hi again,

I was wondering if anybody could post a dyno run *INCLUDING the air/fuel ratio* of a GS500 STOCK.

I've searching for that, but anything I've found has been done after mods (exhaust, carb jet resettings...).

This is part of my quest to identify the optimal riding regime for the lowest consumption... Does this make sense?  :?

Thanks in advance!

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

Nope - that bike has Vance & Hines etc.

I suggest that jsamaniego try looking in old magazines or on the cycle mag sites.

Old Mr. Wilson

May I ask if a dyno really matters? Perhaps it matters only in your mind.
What really cuts the cake is.............0-60
0-100
Quarter mile ET
Really that's about IT.
It's really all about EGO isn't it................

Why can't you just "enjoy" this fine motorcycle.......why......WHY NOT?

Why not dependability? The ability to get there and BACK. Why not?
Why not ruggedness.........the ability to stay "in tune" for the most part and deliver for most of it's life.
Why do you not see the beauty in this bike as one would have in 1972 with the Titan?
This machine will wipe the floor with most ALL of the older British Twins but they are considered GRAND!!!!!!!!

Why on God's green earth would you choose a plastic piece of shaZam! for your everyday follies and not this machine? Maybe it has to do with an hour on an Army cot for a weeks pay. That's about what you're gettin' with a cheap lookin' plastic Japper............(that is ONE of the reasons that Harley Davidson has it all over the Japs since inception)
Taxes are Good. Millions that have been on Welfare for the last 30 years are depending on you. Also Millions that are coming over the border each year are depending on YOU.
Also taxes will fix our shitty schools and roads that have been broken for 40+ years.

You really don't get it do you???

Y'know, Wilson, I will never understand you. Every time you post, you make me say "wtf" even more, and with more fortitude. You're mind boggling odd. And maybe not in a good way. I'm too confused by you to tell.

I'd be interested in a stock dyno run, too. I'm going to be adding on a few things and would like to compare with the original.

No, I disagree.  Gravity is a force.

Errr... wait  a second... what are we talking about?
1992 Blue Monday, Wileyco, lunchbox, 150/40/3/1, Srinath bars, progressives, fenderectomy

Borak: How come Ogg use one spear, Borak need three?
Ogg: Not spear, caveman.

Gravity is bunkum, don't believe in it.

Hey, guys... calm down would ya?  8)

I love my GS500. I bought it because it fits all those adjectives of rugeddness, robustness, easy maintenance (I like doing it all myself)... but let's not fall into GS500-religion, uh?
I am not trying to make it a missile (but even if I would, so what?)...

My post is merely technical.  I also sould like to compare it with future changes, if I ever make them, and simply to KNOW more about what I sit on.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had already looked around into mags, but mostly europeans. Maybe I'll be luckier with American ones...

Ya, I am also interested in finding out how much my baby puts out. I would be willing to do it on my 05, if it wasn't too expensive. How much do they run?? I have a completely stock bike. Where would one go to do a dyno for a bike??
And just to comment on Mr Wilson...he is cool, kind of like a Pat Robertson  I read an editorial back in August about Pat Robertson about what he said on Hugo Chavez back when. Then she ended saying that he talks alot, but who really listens, in the end, its just Pat talking smack again.

Here in Florence, a local racing club would do the run for US$ 45... a bit too much for my pocket...

You should be able to get a dyno run for about $20 here. Check the shops.

I've got a stock 93 that I'm putting on the dyno in about 2 weeks.

I'm trying to set a baseline.

If I can get a good scan I'll post the print out.
