Did something stupid yesterday...

I was riding home from work yesterday morning, going the speed limit on a 4 lane road in the left lane, when the Geo Metro to my right started SLOWLY creeping towards me.  With no thought about the consequences, I reached over and knocked on his window, realized what I'd done, and immediately moved over to the far left side of my lane.  Like I said, stupid, but the look on that guy's face was priceless.

+1 Definitely agree with you there. :nono: It's all about anticipation when street riding and you can't anticipate what a driver like that is going to do. Even worse you gave yourself absolutely zero space cushion in the situation which means you would have had no time to react if things went sour.

Beyond that, I'm really kinda ticks me off when riders just do something dangerous and on purpose like that. Whether it's popping wheelies in traffic, purposely cutting a car off, or knocking on someone's window, it's all bad in my opinion. Gives the general cager even more of a reason to disrespect the general motorcyclist and, in turn, puts the safe motorcyclist (which I do consider myself one) even more at risk on the streets.

Yes SPDave, stupid move.  You didn't by chance say "hey ya'll, watch this" first did you?

LOL, but man that's some funny stuff.   Lord, I apologize fer that.

I see you're familiar with the redneck's #1 most popular last words.  #2 is "Shoot, I can do that."

I had worked a double that day (2-10 and 10-6) and was absolutely blitzed.  I was shocked at myself because I'm usually very defensive.  It was just a knee jerk reaction to get his attention.  Hindsight being 20/20, I realize that I should have moved first and then given a "friendly toot of the horn" as the movie I saw in Driver's Ed 16 years ago suggested.

Dang, now I'm embarrassed and feeling old.

Stupid?  Yes.  Funny as hell?  YES!

You know you're close when you can knock on the window...  HA HA HA HA

Yes, That would have been funny as hell to see, but I don't have the stones to pull that stunt. Be careful

By the way what road where you on? Sounds like hwy 280 traffic.

my MSF instructor told me to kick the $h*t out of the door of any car comin into my lane, so I added extra steel padding on my shoes  :P

and I also learned that:

dog suddendly walking into my path = open throttle and give him/her early retirement.
Caturday yet?

More power to ya! Better be ready to throttle up as soon as ya do it, 'round here anyways a lot of people would unintentionally try to kill you (if that makes much sense). A sideswipe from a little Geo would take ya down pretty quick, but the look on someone's face after you knock on their window would be friggin priceless.

I'm usually on 280, but they're repaving it.  The other night my 25 minute work commute took over an hour, so I've been taking I-65 to 20/59.  I was on Valleydale Road, having just left 65.
