I recently bought a black/gray jacket (Joe Rocket Meteor 5.0) and am looking for pants... probably going with black.

I suppose the fact that my bike is black/silver sways my choice of colors :)

Well if I see you at Gen-Con I will think about not kicking you booty!!!!!

Roadstergal

I wonder if Dainese makes a booty protector...

Thread Jack Has anyone actually been to Gen-Con admit it now you freaks

I've always been too busy with work.  I think that qualifies me for nerdiness - too busy with work to go hang out with geeks.

ajgs500

No they arent geeks they are weirdo freaks who are virgins

As for the pants...

Quote from: Roadstergalthey're flared-leg pants, not fitted, so you have to wrap them to tuck them into the boot.
Do they have a blousing strap at the ankle to hold them wrapped, or do you just stuff?  I'd think they'd flap around like mad and possibly ride up if you didn't have them in a boot. :(

I'm thinking about picking up either a pair of FirstGear Speed or HT Sport pants to have something less bulky and a bit more armored than the HT overpants when I don't need street/work clothing underneath.  I can't find anywhere that stocks them locally to try them on (the local gear shop is pretty wiped out waiting for the '06 lines).

I'm wondering if anyone has fit feedback on either of these.  I'm 5'9", about 190# and the 34" overpants from FirstGear fit well.  I'm specifically wondering about stretchyness in the waist and thigh.  I think I'm leaning toward the Speed pants, because of the actual leather reinforcements in the knees and hips and it looks like they'd have less of the "wiffwiffwiff" corduroy sound.

Alternately, any recommendations on an online shop with a good return policy that carries the FirstGear line?

QuoteThere is no connection zipper to the pants, which is a minus.

Didn't the pants come with both halves of a zipper? When I talked to the guys at the shop where I was considering buying a bike from, they told me that most nicer pants will come with both halves of the zipper, and you can just take your jacket in, along with the spare half of the zipper to a seamstress, and have them sew the zipper onto the jacket... viola, instant connection between the two, and it probably only cost you $10... Even if the pants didn't come with a spare zipper half, couldn't you just go to a seamstress with the pants and jacket and tell them what you want? I dunno, maybe this is just a stupid post... but I tried... and when it's time to replace the sony tv in the background, get a Toshiba instead, same quality, 2/3 the price... (sorry, electronics salesman, I can't help it)

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

thanks but no. I think I'll stay at the "blatent leg humping" stage for a while before I move on to "the stalker".
