That big exhaust looks horrible against the Buell-style seat. The wheels should be the same color, too.

Shorten that pipe up to end with the seat and it might just look SWEET!

It would be a lot of fab work though.

You could always weld a Buell rear frame onto the GS's, modify a Buell seat to fit the GS tank, and get a shorty exhaust like the new R6.

I've had my bike for two weeks and I'm already thinking about how to chop it up! I might look around the chop shops here in Toronto for some old Buell frame - then learn how to weld  I'll try the basics first K&N, progressive springs and front sprocket. Lots of guys on the forum have installed the SM type 2 HB - what about type 1 will it go on and clear everythinig?

No. As SM says, only SM Type 2 bars will fit on the GS.

I got an email from SM today saying they do not know if type 1 will fit or not. I know the website shows a t2 on the gs500F, though doesnt explicitly deny the t1 workin.on a gs500E

if you really want to cafe it - bob that front fender and get those big clunky gauges off the top so that when y ou put your clubman bars on you get a really sleek line up top.

That's the rear part of a Ducati Monster S2R (I think).
