Just as a side thought, sitting here at the cafe.. just put my helmet in the bag..

Does anyone actually use their helmet bag? I use mine all the time for all my helmets. I noticed that most other people I see do not.

No cause then I would look like a dork.

I use mine. It's so much easier to carry to class if I'm riding, or out walking around, etc...

it takes too long to put the helmet in the bag, and i've been close to drop the helmet while doing that.

I only use mine when I store the helmet in the closet. Otherwise, see ajgs500's comment above...

I only use when I put it away at home... when I'm out... I dont get off my bike for long anyway so I just bring the lid with me. Besides, i'd have to clean off all the bug guts before putting it in the bag.

use mine to travel...flying or driving in a cage.

I never put a helmet in its bag unless it is cleaned first. I do not want to risk the chance of getting dirt embedded into the fleece lining of the bag and then scratch the helmet.

Its like people who have little cases for their cell phones    just so you dont scratch the screen  

I carry mine, it's what i keep all the spare shields in  and then I have somethign soft to clean off the shield that I am putting on.

Hmm...I dont currently use mine. Its not a bad idea to keep it lookin pretty. I cant see myself ever using mine outside of storage at home though, to much of a pain.

When I leave the helmet on the bike for any extended period of time I put it in the bag. That way its atleast slightly less tempting for people to vandalize it.

When I bought my Rayven helmet it came in a bag, thats handy I though and since then it has contained a Bieffe helmet on a shelf in my basement.

Looking it some it the marks made by jammind down the top-box lid I wish i had used it but the truthful answer is, sadly no.

I have been using it whenever I am in a place where I will be sitting down for any extended period of time. Since I am riding more then I am driving, it is just about every day. There is nothing that pisses me off more when people pick up your helmet and go "OOO A HELMET!" then screw with the visor and get their grubby hands all over it so I can not see. As well, the fluffy inside of the helmet bag works well to clean off the unit and keep it shiny.

Guess I am a dork then. Whatever.

Thats is why you slug them when they do that

i use my helemt bag all the time. the helmet protects my most important resource, my head and brain. so anything else i can do to look after my helmet i will. even if it doesn't seem to do to much.

I have 3 helmets.  Maybe I am just mean enough that no one screws with my helmets.  But I prefer helmet condoms.

Helmet condoms, safe thinking?
