I'm replacing my head and cylinder gaskets.  I'm wondering whether I should use RVT red or blue with my gaskets (or none at all?).  My intellect would tell me that the red (high temp) would be best but as my intellect normally gets me into trouble I thought I would ask first!

They do not use any additional sealant. They have a coating (basically a metalic paint) on them already. Be careful not to scratch it.

If you use any sealant, you will have a mess on you hands.
