I know one les-been, but I don't think she's a has-been yet. I was surprised to see her gushing about how dominant men are her thang.... This is a rainbow-wearing, pride-parade marching, card-carrying member of the ghey party! I didn't know sexuality could change like that!  :dunno:

Sure I guess.  They are both Catholic too which may play into to things.  From all of the research I have seen it is widely accepted that only 10% lie on either end of the spectrum as exclusively homo or hetero and everyone else lies somewhere in between.  It is more than sex anyway, I just find that I connect to women on a level I cant with men.  Oh and chicks are hot too, but especially one.

Ja, indeed.  A straight woman might think she's lesbian because she enjoys the sex, but then over time realizes she doesn't connect with gals like she does with guys... or vice versa... and I agree that sexuality is a continuum, not black-and-white.

I'm not trying to start a war, but if only 20% of the population are sure about their sexuality, how does that effect the "I was born ghey" arguement.  Sounds to me like it supports the "choose to be, whatever" arguement.  Also taking away from the "born ghey" arguement is...

The "nature V. nurture" arguement (in general, not just in the case of homosexuality) has facinated me for a long time.  I would be very interested in physiological evidence in the difference between homosexuals and hetrosexuals, especially if 80% of us are somewhere in the middle.  I have recently theoized that ghey people have different (or at least different ratios) pheramones (sp).  That is how ghey people (and straight people) know who they are attracted too, at least on a chemical level.

Disregard this entire post if it is too serious for this thread, or if you are offended by it.  If you are offended by it you should probably not take yourself so seriously, though.

The issue of sexuality is so loaded that I think most people have a hard time admitting even to themselves everything their sexuality entails. There is so much religous, moral, etc/etc stigma related to being ghey or to being different in any way that I think it's not so much an argument against being born ghey and more an argument for how confused we as a society are about our sexuality. I think if given a choice, nearly 100% of people would CHOOSE to be heterosexual; that's what's considered "normal" and that's what will garner one the least amount of flack and grief. Of course, my bias is that we ARE born with our sexual identity already engraved in our genes, just as with our hair colour, eye colour, weight, height, etc., so I'll leave it to someone else to make a statement for the "choice" side. ;)

On the flipside, there are also a lot of homosexuals and bisexuals who are in it for the "cool" and "fun factor". Lately, being homo/bisexual is the "cool" thing to be. It is trendy.  :dunno:

I don't see any real harm in it at all. I don't even see why it is an issue; I don't care who anyone is having sex with (with the exception of myself and my girlfriend). Everyone else, more power to you  :thumb:

That is why I don't understand why it is such a big deal, even on the GStwin site, that many of our threads have to go in the direction of AJ's sexuality. Not because I am a jerk, but because I don't see it as a big deal.  :dunno:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Ja, I'm with pandy - just because we are not on one end or the other doesn't mean we choose where we end up.  Saying sexuality is a continuum does not mean we determine by rational choice where we land on that continuum.  It's hard to pull out what's nature and what's nurture, though, because sexuality is such a touchy issue in our society.  I really wish the people who had problems with homosexuality would just get a life and go pull their hair out about something else.  Persecuting people and denying them marriage because of the plumbing of the people they love just boggles the mind.

what ever you say man...

i think it's totally wrong to practice homosexuality, just because it's cool, when you're not ghey. though we encourage it here in this forum full of perverts

Once again, sex vs. love.  You can be straight and have sex with someone of the same gender for kicks; we have a messed-up society that has Issues with that, though.

Ok apparently Oppy needs to read some Kinsey or is he banned in the south.  I dont know anyone at least not here in conservative Indiana who is being ghey or bi cause it is cool.  I also agree with Pandy that if anyone had a choice on their sexuality that almost no one would "choose" to be ghey.  Being straight is so so so much easier.  Kinseys thoughts are contrived from research done in the 1950's and I would have to say that many things have changed since then.  The number of 10%, even though it is widely accepted, could and probably has changed.  And to deal with all of the hate and bigotry I have had to develop a f@#$ y&^ attitude about the whole thing.  But even so I will never stop standing up for what I believe in and what is just.
