Last night I was riding and I would go to shift from 2nd to 3rd and I could pull in the clutch and let off that gas, then try and lift the shifter. But when I would try to shift to 3rd from 2nd the shifter wouldn'tmove at all, I would try a few times before it would go in. It just wouldn't move at all like it was locked up. it happened quite a few different times, but not every time. anybody know what it is?

A case of lazy toe? See if something is blocking, or keeping, the shifter from moving, like the rim of your boot maybe hanging up on the case.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Hmm, could the kind of oil he's using be causing any problems like that?  Maybe his clutch is too loose?

it's got less than 1000 miles on it. it's an 05. it's like it all of the sudden started happening. my toe or shoe is not touching anything else,. i lift up and i can feel that the shifter does not want to move, so i let the clutch back out in 2nd go for a second or two and try it again. sometimes takes a few tries. sometimes it shifter perfect, but it's only from 2nd to 3rd gear shifts.

Check your oil on the centerstand...  Make sure it's not low or TOO FULL.

Other than that...  It's brand new with warranty...  If there really is a problem, the shop should deal with it without arguement.

I sorta have the same problem, except going into 4th and 5th gear. I have to put a LOT of leverage on the shifter to get it to click properly. If I shift via LLT style, it has tendancies to pop out. However, I think the force I have to put on it is a little bit unnecessary. I've just chalked it up as being so new and decided to ride it out a while and see if it improves any.

Is there anything you can adjust to change the way it shifts? To many accomodate us LLTers?

You can lower the shift lever...  Angle it down more.

It's easier to raise your foot from low to middle than it is from middle to high.

Timing is everything.  Begin clutching & rolling off throttle together with upshift just a half beat behind.
