I saw this smoking deal on outpost.com, (AKA Fry's electronics)

Now, I know that for a moto, you want to have a rugged little bugger of a
GPS unit (waterproof and whatnot)  but here in dry AZ I can almost
see myself making do with this PDA-based unit...

Besides, I just like ghetto-rigging stuff onto my bike... all my mods have
come from parts designed for other bikes....  (reminds me, should post
pix soon, of how the beast looks nowadays)

So does anybody have any disaster stories of GPS units not intended for
bikes on the GS500?

i was looking at that the other day, and the reviews are so-so, but for $250, its still probably worth it.  if you get it, let me know how you like it.

bah... i got one for my birthday.  not that impressed.  it tells me where i am.  the screen is nice, the display is nice.  the routing is not the greatest, maps are outdated, and the software is not easy to use.  nor does it support multiple waypoints.  it's point-a to point-b only as far as i can tell.  i think i am going to return it or sell it.
