Time For A New Bike....

LEVO

SV650S.  Better wind protection compared to naked but not much plastic to trash if you drop it.  This year they have it in red as well.  I put 2.5k miles on it in 5 months and still loving it.  It is my daily commute.

Positives: Enough power and torque for great street performance, not very agressive seating compared to SS bikes (you need to change the way you support yourself), low insurance, reliable, 45-50 mpg, looks good, vtwin sound

Negatives: Taller seating than GS (I have 31" inseam and can't flat foot it), stock seat is not good for long rides (gel seat is available for 125 bucks), mushy front suspension (easy to fix with new springs and two quarts of 20 weight fork oil, cost 120 bucks), top end is not as high as SS bikes but this is usually irrelevant

The Buddha

Quote from: pandyWell, my bf and I went on a group ride today, and the Baby G was a verrrrrrrry bad boy. I broke down several times, and then when we were almost to the top of a tall mountain (Mt. Hamilton for those of you who are local), my little GS decided he was done for the day. He died on exactly the same kind of righthand hairpin turn that he dumped me off of a few weeks ago. This time, he didn't get rid of me.  :nana: We limped home, but that's getting mighty old.

Maybe you should actually learn to work on it instead of drooling on the purple and fantasizing about the undogly things you want to do to it ...
End loop ...
End Drum roll ... Start eye roll ...        ...
Cool.

Quote from: natedawg120That is a good choice in bikes pandy.  Have you though about getting the factory lowers for it.  I think the SVS looks great with them.  Would look like this:
I just saw the lowers when I was looking through options today...that might be something in my future!  :)

Ok....change in plans.... it looks like I'll be picking up the '06 red SVS.... TOMORROW!! Now perhaps I won't need to go so fast for the red bike and blue gear to blur into purple! Hmmm...maybe I should sell my brand new blue EXO-400 and get a red one.

Two GSs, and a blue SV that turns into a red one at the last minute?  Pandy, you're catching up to me.   :)

Mebbe not for long, though.  If I can just get the F comfy enough for commuting, the Burger is turning into a dualsport.

Very nice.  That red '06 is hot!  I'd love to have an SO with an SV so I could have visitation rights!

A dual sport scooter... wtf? You're starting to lose it, girl.

What can I say...I'm an animal! ;) The commuter GS will be going to a family member. I'll still have ratbike, though. One of these days I need to do something with her.

Wow...I go away for a few days and everyone gets new bikes?  Did I miss a memo?

The guys at Aurora must crack a smile a mile wide when they see you walking into the dealership, you're putting their kids through college.

Track bike!!!!

And there's a thread in O&E for me.    This is Pandy's thread.  (And I go to people, not to dealerships; Ryan knows what I like and gives me no bull, so if he were to go to another dealership, I'd leave AS and go there.)

If his name is Ryan, he can't be all bad.  In fact, he must be psychic to know what you like, since it seems to change so often.  :P

Enjoy the SVS, Pandy!

This is a possibility! (And, no worries, I'm good at sharing my threads.   )

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

pandy

Yup!! Finance check is being overnighted, so will receive that this morning. Going to ask my honey's son to ride new bike home for me since it's going to be dark, and he's had a LOT more experience riding new bikes in the dark. I should hopefully be picking it up tonight!!!!! w00t!!

Remember:  new tires are very slippery.

Roadstergal

Remember - new brakes suck.

Remember - sons might not respect breakin rev limits...

Don't they make something to move the pegs forward, rather than back?

I know Harley people do that crap all the time...  There's gotta be something like that for GSs.

Another option would be to go get it while it's still light out. *coughcough* I think you might be coming down with a cold.  :)
