That's the first thing I put on any bike that has 'em made for it.

That makes me feel like slightly less of a dork!

But I'm sure RVertigo can help me feel like more of a dork again!  :nana:

Well, it's not hard...

Most people put on sliders in case they drop...  You, on the other hand, buy frame sliders in bulk.   :nana:

OK...  I'll stop now.  Bad karma gonna make me crash.   :?

I heard Pandy uses frame sliders instead of the side stand to park the bike.  :o
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

I think what you head was that she uses the frame sliders every time she tries to use the centerstand. :P

Phaedrus

Or was it that she uses the frame sliders everytime she rides?  :dunno:

Yeah, some people like them. I can't STAND how they look at all. The naked ones look WAY better, but still not as good as a good 'ol naked FZ1.

:bs:

The FZ6 is a GREAT bike! It was a very close call between the SVS and the FZ6. Really the only thing that swayed me was the fact that I could get more of my feet on the ground with the SVS. I love riding my bf's FZ6, though!!  :thumb:

I guess it takes a REAL man to appreciate the FZ6.  :nana:

Um...Pandy...it's been like 2 days now and we still haven't gotten a ride report on the new bike.

Quote from: AlphaFire X5The FZ1 is an absolute BLAST. It doesn't have the low clip on bars that the SV does, but that's what a lot of people like about it. Plus, you can just get some clubman bars or SM bars on there that will lower it fairly nicely, from what I've heard. I haven't ridden one personally, but I've ridden ON one. It screams and hauls like there is no tomorrow. The power just keeps coming and coming and coming and coming. Ah the power delivery of a big I-4. It's hard to get it to redline while staying within the bounds of legality though. You don't really need to rev it up that high to get it to power you around though.
Consider this, too. The FZ1 board is about as active, helpful, and quirky as ours. Good group of guys and gals over there.

The FZ6, according to the people on the FZ board (some have both, others HAD both, and sold the FZ6) isn't close to the level of comfort, ability, style, and all around goodness that the FZ1 is chocked full of.
Gee alpha...lets compare a 1k Gixxer to a  gs and see what the "people" think  :dunno:  :nana:

Cuz I haven't ridden it yet!!!  :x It's dark when I leave in the AM and VERY dark when I get home from work in the PM (and misty and drizzly), so I've still been commuting on the Baby G. With not-so-great eyesight and dark, I decided to hold off on riding Big Red until tomorrow morning when it's light (yes, it's been agonizing!!!). This is why I had my stepson ride it home for me...unfamiliar bike + dark + bad eyesight = disaster waiting to happen.  :dunno: *HE* had an absolute blast on the bike, though.   He's used to riding a Gixxer 1K, but he commented that...ahem...how to say delicately.....that the SVS has...ahem...BALLS!   He's offered every day to help me scrub in the tires and break in the engine...ain't he a peach!

I *have* caressed Big Red every day.... I've also fondled him and sat on him and made vroom vroom noises every night!

I will definitely give an update tomorrow afternoon or evening!!!!  :thumb:

V-twins have a nifty deep-throated buddadabuddada that the I-4s lack.

Of course, I-4s are sex on wheels when you open 'em up.  But you pay for that moment the rest of the time you ride 'em.

 You have a way with words. :P

Well...I found an SV forum...it doesn't have the charm of GSTwin, but I *did* find out that Suzuki makes a lower seat than stock (at least for the 2003-2005 model). I'm going to have to find out if that one will work for the '06....that along with platform boots will likely make me feel more secure on the SV. I'm so used to being able to flat-foot it on the GS. I *LIKE* being able to flat-foot it!!!!

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I made this post earlier in the night about both these colors.

In short, the metallic gray is AMAZING.

Missed that post.  That is good news and now I think I am set on the '06 Gray.  Now I gotta search around on the SV forums and see what I might be able to get one for.  I did not really bargain much with the salesman when I bought my GS but this time I am out for the best deal...hell, I will drive 6 hours to pick it up if need be.  Shooting for MSRP or less if I can get it OTD ready to ride off the lot.

Best deals you are going to find are from Honda East up by Toledo, $7475 + doc fees etc.  They deal in volume and price their bikes very competitively.

conratulations pandy! lets see pictures.

socalsvriders.com and svriders.com are good boards.

Methinks one could say that about anything related to sex... :P
