Well its been a while since I've posted but yesterday I received some sad news about the new owner of my 04' GSF. The bike was purchased about a month and a half ago, and yesterday at 2:45pm the new owner of the GS was t-boned at an intersection by an asian driver who fled the scene. For the guy riding the 04 F the bike mousetrapped him and he slid on the bike into oncomming traffic and was hit yet by another car. He remains in emergency in serious and unstable condition his spine is hanging like a mop head and is still in a coma. I believe he was one of those members that wasn't an avid poster but hung around in the background.
My heart goes out to him and his family. I also appologize for having to come back on such a sad note.

damn cagers need to look out for bikers.. they need to put a thing in teh DMV manual to look out for people on 2 wheels.. tehy mention pedestrians but not 2 wheel riders.

That's terrible.  I'm with RG...I hope they find the guy so he can be hung, drawn, and quartered.  :x

Every sign for the RMV in Massachusetts is accompanied by a bright yellow "Check Twice, Save a Life--Motorcycles are Everywhere" sign.  It's a nice gesture, but I'm not sure how much it actually helps.  Saying "don't hit a motorcycle" to a 16 year old getting a permit is sort of like saying "don't eat your own head."  And really...who reads the DMV manual after they get their license?

theres a manual?  all kidding aside, i hope this guy pulls thru, i was a t-boned rider once upon a time, an after 2 years finally got to climb back on a bike

I hope he pulls through and is able to ride again.....as for the cager....I hope he dies of some freak accident....like a run away shopping cart in Wal-Mart or something.

Absolutely. I wish him a miraculous recovery, one never seen by the medical profession. My nephew had a miraculous recovery from leukemia at 6 yrs old after being on a respirator, so I know it is possible.

And they need to catch the driver and beat him w/ wet noodles. He prob had no ins :x  :guns:

I hope he can make it....   makes me thing how lucky I actually was with my tankslapper...

I don't think this would help. The sort of person who causes a serious accident and does not stop to help isn't going to be driving safely.
He proberbly had not licence and insurance, this is why alot of them run.

Hope he makes a recovery.

ok yeah my prayers out  for the guy and all but wtf, is it really necessary to have to point out that the stupid cager was ASIAN?  who cares?  do you just have to add to the stereotype that asians are bad drivers?  just say that he/she was a cager and leave it at that.

you don't hear me talking about all of the bad mexican and white drivers i meet on the road...i don't go ranting on how a white lady in an suv who, for some reason, slammed on her brakes at a green light at an intersection on a rainy day, resulting in my sister hydroplaning and slamming into the back of the suv...with the suv then driving off in a hurry.  not as bad i guess, but it's still an example of stupid cager-ness.

so what's up mods...you guys let this slide?  maybe if he was joking but his post was serious.  i like gstwins.com and all but cmon...

I don't have anything against asian people, I actually have a couple asian friends. I didn't know stating a fact would make someone get they're panties in a knot, but hey I guess the truth hurts. and hey maybe if u wanna go ranting on about your sister rear ending some other lady go to www.suv-forums.com . I just hope you got your point out what?! a pretty stupid one if you ask me.

By the way Ryan Bruce passed away this morning at around 5am.

yeah i hope i did get my point out.  i hope i got the point out that generalization and stereotyping people is not cool.  sure if it's in a joking manner fine but this wasn't the case.  sure, the driver so happened to be an asian.  big friggin deal.  if he was black would you have thought to bring that up?

it's not like i'm accusing you of being a racist or anything.  i just don't understand the relavance of bringing up the fact he/she was asian.  you could have said, "stupid guy," or, "dumb lady on her cell phone."  so if the driver was black, it would've read, "the new owner of the GS was t-boned at an intersection by a BLACK driver who fled the scene..."  now why's that sound so much worse?  who cares...it's the same thing!!  

why don't you use a little more tact and threadjack a post in a topic where the kid didn't die?  wtf.

and i have a real problem with people getting all upset over descriptors.  We people, we describe things. Christ.

It is always disheartening when I hear about a motorcylist dying due to cager fault. It makes me really angry to hear when they don't even stick around to help out and just drive off.

My heart goes out to Ryan Bruce's family. May he rest in peace, and may his family find peace and get the justice they deserve.

 I am sure everyone sends their condolences. I know I do.
