C'mon, you know he means a pic with you on the bike!

I'm at 390.  Goddamit.  I think a ride to Portland is in my future.  And then I'll have to do it all over on the DR650.

I saw the perfect ride for you while I was out bike shopping. I'll post it later when I have more time.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

really like the SVS.  It looks great.  They don't have the '06s here yet but i can't wait to take a look at the blue.  I like the darker blue better.

I get distracted for a few days and a thread a mile long generates on a non-GS500 topic no less...

Good weather and twisty roads to ya, Pandy.  :thumb:   Have someone snap a pic for posting of you actually riding that steed of yours.  Envy is radiating all over the place.

PS. Nice colour.

So, I'm sure someone already said it. Here it is again.

Why, It's not purple! <gasp> :o

Quote from: Roadstergal... The digital speedo isn't as good for peripheral-vision glancing as an analog, but it really is good for keeping one speed going when you're on the freeway.

Clocks are invaluable.  I need to add one to my F.
Just noticed RG's comment and I've got to ask, "Anybody else annoyed with the range on some analog speedometer's?"

I've been tentatively entertaining what bike I'd move to, should that happen in the near future.  The bikes I'm toying with are the Yamaha FZ6, YZF600R, Kawasaki ZZR600, and perhaps the popular SV650S.

The YZF600R carries an analog speedo with a top end of 180 mph.  City speeds barely register -- even highway velocity is a third a way arcoss the dial.  As RG notes, it's not something you can zone in on quickly with a glance.

The digital clock eliminates this.  If large enough and with sufficient contrast, a quick glance to LCD displays should work a lot better with a passing glance than these mega-scale speedo's.

(Funny what bugs me sometimes.) There.  I've said it. ;)

PS. I have to say that this thread has started those "next bike" thoughts in me all over again. Not sure if this is a good thing, with the onset of winter just a few weeks away.

If you have polarizing sunglasses on, some of those digital speedos abruptly become useless.

The GS does not suffer from an analog speedo that goes to 180, so it's all good.   :)   And my old SV had trouble going over 120, so its (analog) speedo was well set up for its total speed range while still registering the lower speeds.  Hmm, interesting point - maybe that's why they started putting the digital speedos on the can-go-far-too-fast-bikes first.

Well...it all started cuz my Baby G kept breaking down...turns out it looks like a kickstand-sensor issue, cuz when I tie the kickstand up, he runs like a top. But...I have a new man in my life...a Big Red man...and I'm SOOOOO in love!!!

edit: oh yeah...pics...we were gonna get some action shots today, but once I got going, I didn't wanna stop.       We'll try again tomorrow! ;)

You must be going nuts. I'm getting my first bike, but decided to wait til after the winter (no sense buying and trying to sleep on it for 3 months :D) and I can't wait for the winter to pass.

I took the $ I was going to spend on a bike ($2500)  and invested it, so either
a) I'll have more money for a bike next year
b) I'll be buying a BMX bike and making vroom vroom noises :D

so everyone, invest in eh-eh-eh (Howard Stern listeners know what I mean  :thumb:  ) so I can get some good gear and a bike after the winter. Thank you, drive through :)

I was! I was!!! But I've been riding all weekend....and it's been SHWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!  :thumb:

It must have been a tough decision to wait, but if your $ is invested, you'll be able to get more gear! ;)

I usually love winter, but I'm already crying cuz it's sposta rain tomorrow!!  :(
