This is a good example of correct code.  I am just lazy

Sorta...  You shouldn't void main...   :dunno: I'm just lazy.

Plus...  I couldn't remember:

int main (arv v[], arg c)

Is that right?

Stupid C...

natedawg120

nah you normally void main unless you are returning something.  Like what you wrote you are returning an int to whatever calls main.  Simple stuff main is normally void and helper functions return things.  </geek>

edit : <---CS major, just realized i can never </geek> damnit

Edit again : but yes, programs that call other programs have mains like what you wrote, and C is stupid

Well, it's like all the other BS stuff in programing...  You shouldn't GOTO...  You shouldn't exit mid-function...  You should always return a value...

Blah Blah...

I use void all the damn time...  But, I always catch flack from someone about it.    Code nazis.

[/threadjack]

natedawg120

Yeah.  In mult program assignments we would catch flack.  But what our profs did all the freaking time is deduct way to many points for not comenting good enough, as in what alsmost every loop or return or line does if it could be confusing....... :x.   Only had one prof that if your program did as it was supposed to he wouldn't even look at the code. </continued threadjack>

I comment the crap out of everything...  But, I'm kinda forgetful.
[/threadjack for real this time]

natedawg120

i feel you pain       , there was this one time a buddy of mine had a bug and he put in his code a bunch of prints and they printed the "profs name" / "is" / "an" / "ass" / "hole" / "!!!!" at diff times to debug.  If it all came out it was fixed.  Well he forgot to take it out before he submitted the program.  The prof didn't like that, but i laughed my butt off cause he ran that program for the class and had the guy explain.               </returning power back to child abuse>

I could keep takin them out until I was completely exhausted. I'd say at least 40 or 50. But on the other hand, 5 minutes ago, if you had told me that right now I'd be trying to guestimate how many preschoolers I could destroy before they got me, I woulda said "That's AWESOME."

One at a time i could see taking out 40 or 50, but the rule is, its all at once. I got 100 bucks that says 50 of them could take you.

It's ANSI C (they removed it from the C++ spec), but it's still a common UNIX extension and is supported in the MS compiler.

It passes in the environment variables.

Oh yeah...  THat's why I didn't put it up at first...  I couldn't remember it...  I've been using TestML for too long.  It's based on C, but it's totally untyped and sloppy as hell.   :dunno:
