Here is to the blue bikes out there.....

Thanks, they are a two step powdercoat, silver (near chrome) base with a translucent blue top coat.  They really look great in direct sunlight.

MPA-  It was better than the stock bars, lower obviously, and about an inch shorter bar I believe.  Needed bar ends, and when it got backed into recently, I decided to try higher bars.

Found some cheap aluminum MX bars at CycleGear for 5 bucks more than the same drag bars, and thought I'd give it a shot.

Result: I like it a lot better with the MX bars.  Of course, I grew up on a dirtbike (literally every weekend and 2-3 times a week we were out either practicing or racing from age 8-18), so it's much closer to what I am used to.  Don't need bar-ends to dampen vibrations, the controls all fit better, and high/low speed maneuvers are much better and easier to make with the wider bars.

If you grew up on a street bike/this is a 2nd bike, I'd put drag bars on it, but I commute on mine and lanesplit almost constantly, so I like the extra control and won't go back.  FWIW, I'm 6'6 with most of that being leg length and I've got goober-ass long arms too.

As for the flyscreen on the 01, I don't know what screen that is, it worked OK, that bike got transferred from the member aplitz to member Daniely, to another guy in Phoenix that isn't around anymore on this board.  It wasn't much better riding with it than without it, but looked pretty good, IMO and was stable at freeway speeds anyway.  More picts are in the link in my signature below.

The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
