CF dgyver fairing all the way!  is this a street bike?  if so, what do u plan on doing for a headlight?  also in your photoshop i think the fairing is too big.  make it smaller and repost (for meee)

budget speed demon

its not that the fairing is too big, its that the tail is alittle too small so everything ealse looks too big. this is the picture that I started with when photoshoping this image. you can see that I clearly changed the tail on the thing and should have made it a little biger.

oh and for the headlight I'm thinking of going two ways... one is;

I like the blue band inset on that one

or

going with one of the 3 of these

witch ever one I get, it will be mounted to the fairing on the bottom of it, right above the front fender, but this is only if I chose the carbon or sv650 fairing set up because the RZ350 fairing uses the stock headlight.

it will defanatly be a much more "ticked" custom look if I change out the headlight as well as adding a fairing, but also a hell of alot more expensive

I'd go with the first one...  But, I like nekid bikes.

In fact...  I really like the first one.   :thumb:

interesting idea for the headlight.  i also thought about using driving lights.  i saw this one guy who had cut out a hole in a race fairing and had the headlight tucked inside.  he used 2 round ones one on top of the other.  the 'hole' was a gsxr headlight shape just smaller. i actually liked it.

Yeah that was what i would do.  Only problem is if you have to have inspections, like in my crappy state, there has to be a hi beam i think.  That would eliminate the fog light options for me, unless i could devise a high beam strategy.

weaselnoze

sure why not?  the high beam would be both lights on, the low beam would be just one.

well actually I think I would only use one of the little headlights right in the middle. but there are no "inspections" here. the only thing you have to do is have a safty "certification" done by a lisenced motorcycle mechanic when selling or buying a bike inorder to change the ownership over. and I figure if I do this mod and it doesn't pass certification, let the person buying the bike deal with it. I'm not really thinking about selling it at this point and defanatly not worrieing about my resale value.I payed only $1000 for it, and gs's sell for $2500 (for a really nice condition, low milage stock bike) here so I'll easily be able to get my money back if I sell it. I think I'm gonna hold onto it for another 3 or 4 more years atleast though.

awesom

I like the idea about a costum made dgyver fairing... Maybe you could cut 2 holes in both sides of the fairing and put 2 round headlamps in the front, with some kind of light tunnel.

And for the luxery you could (before you cut) make a mold of the fairing in clay or some thing burn proof, and fit a plexiglass frontend to cover the 2 light holes in the fairing....

Just a little brainstorm, it was something i would do if i had 300$ and didn't live in Denmark....  :dunno:

Danish isn't always something you eat. :)

And no, Denmark is not the capital of Sweden.

well I was doing some math and thought I'd share,

in order to setup the carbon fairing i would have to to spend a totoal of: $760  :o how did that happen.... :?

this is how it adds up

the carbon fairing $300+lets say $80 shipping cost (because of its size) thats $380+ conversion to canadian dollars= aprox $450

those headlights from the catalog I can get form my work for a discount so were talking maybe about $80 canadian dollars

then I gotta change out the bars to clear the fairing. going for either some form of clubman style bars (weather it be a pair of tomisselli's or somthing srinath makes) or a cheap set of clip-ons I get off ebay. I'll say maybe $100 canadain shipped, (just for an estamate)

then were talking about getting a winsheild for the fairing thats about $50 canadian to my door

also going to need a set of fairing mount mirrors. I want to get ones with built in turn signals as to avoid signals on the front of the bike. probably about $80 canadian to my door.

the last thing on the list to make it all work, is the hrs of time spent building fairing mounts onto the frame... can't put a price on that one,
can you beleive that though, how quickly a $300 fairing turned into a $760 project.... outch. its starting to make the first rz350 fairing look alot more attactive for $75 plus maybe a new windscreen on the thing... so what, maybe a total of $120....

The guy at the dealer that sold me my GS was selling his SV650 track bike.  It had a GSXR tank and race plastic on it with 2 low profile driving lights mounted side by side to the race fairing above the front fender.  It looked pretty good and when asked how bright it was he said it was brighter than the stock light.

Roadstergal

Rz350 and a bitchin' paint job that integrates the windshield.

See if you can find a chin fairing, too.

DMac

I aggre w/ the RZ option. I live outside Toronto and goto school in Ottawa, so I know how expensive junk can be up here.
And to get those mirrors for 80 bucks isn't really possible fro what I've looked it at, it was more around 100 each!
I have a GSF atm but I'm all about the nekkid bikes as well and if you can get the paint job done custom them don't get faring. Btw, how much does your cousin chrage for a custom paint job?
