I have won the battle of the stripped allen bolt.

The bolt in question was one of four that was holding my fork brace on. I used my Dremmel cutting tool to cut a slot on top of the bolt and then used my impact driver (my favorite tool) to finish it off.

For those of you that don't know, an impact driver is one of the great tools for removing stuck screws. You can get one at your favorite hardware store for about $15.00.

It came right out.

Thanks to the guy on this message board who gave me the hint about using the Dremmel tool to make the slot. Don't know why I didn't think of it but .....thanks.

ugh... just thinking about having to go thru that crap gives me a headache.  Good job on getting it out.... I absolutly hate strip'd bolts.
