I'm quite the opposite. I hated the look of that upper fairing so mouch I just took it off. The fairing as a whole isn't so bad, but still not as good as pure nakedness. Half naked is just blah, IMO.

I like it meaning it looks like it woud offer some decent wind protection :) How it looks doesn't really matter to me as I would only see the backside of the bubble and that's what counts.

I'm just hoping there are some decent half fairings I can buy when/if I get a GS. So far all I've seen pictures of are little fly screens or touring winshields. Like I said earlier, an SV-S type fairing would be sweet.

Quote from: coll0412Unrelated question, why do the new carbs have Throttle Position Sensor, is it for the newer style ignition?
Yep! The new ignition controller only takes a crank position information from where the original dual coil was. The TPS feeds the new "box" that is more like an ECU than the original.
I have xrays of the original. No brains to be seen. The OEM manual discusses this a little for the 03-04+ models.

Now for the question that I came up with after reading that; can we hack it?
There is no "service port" on the schematics that I can see.

So does that make Srinath a tool of the devil?

i run on the little wheel, expending exuberant amounts of enegery to get nowhare. she finds it entertaining.  I also juggle and have a tap dance rutine in the oldschool vaudeville style that's always good for a few laughs.

OK, I finally polished the exhaust.  And dyed my hair red.  A reasonably productive evening.  Painted the footpegs red, but I won't have time to install them for a while.

Phaedrus

You are the only girl I can think of that will have matching hair / footpegs.  :P

That would explain the imfamous G-Pack.  I always figured it was probably an electronic ignition advancer or something along those lines.

Borak: How come Ogg use one spear, Borak need three?

Funniest name I was ever called on here "cap'n fast n' furious"

A guy once told me "having nitrous on your car is alot like dating a hot girl with a STD, your afraid to hit it because of what might happen."

Roadstergal

No pics of any of those three at the moment.

I do think the bike is running a skosh rich.  Not bad, and it's getting slightly better mileage than it was pre-valve adjustment, but it does have a bit of a bad temper starting up.  I think it's the rejet with that can; I don't think it's less restrictive than the stock GS.  Each cylinder on a TL does push 500ccs, but shares it between two cans, so each can is supposed to pass 250ccs of air, just like the GS500 can.  But since I have that nifty bracket, I can get an aftermarket TL exhaust.

So you are publicly admitting that davipu is right  :P

Roadstergal

Yes, and I'm also publicly saying he's wrong for saying the TL exhaust is less restrictive, so it balances out.

davipu

tl is 500 cc per can. with a flow through design.  gs is 500cc with a internal baffle.

davipu

see I'm good for two things. sex and killing spiders.

Roadstergal

Well, I'm certainly internally baffled.  Spiders?

But I still think it'd help the rich if I get an aftermarket TL can.  And you're right, the pod makes working on the carbs easier. I'll get me one of those, too.
