It is not a gazing ball.

I consider it to be used mostly for decoration, but many would disagree.  It does have other uses.

have you seen some of those pipes and bongs, they are very decoritive. and some people actually use them.

They are decorative, but I think we'd be busted for having them around the lab, since they're technically drug paraphernalia.  It's not glass.
