Tried to start the bike today but it wouldn't turn over.

Ignition seemed strong.
Temperature mid 20's
It got two dustings of snow since the last time I started it. (B@st@rds stole my cover the day before first snow)

i'm assuming it could a) be the battery or b) be something frozen.

A friend strongly warned me about starting it if something froze.

Any ideas on how i can check? Should I just wait until it's decently over freezing? Should I try to get it to a storage space/ garage and get it thawed out?

Did the bike crank over strongly? Your battery may be weak from the cold.
If your gargae is heated, go ahead and try to start it in there, after it's "thawed out."

Well I would need to get it towed to a garage I might be storing it at/ learning how do work on my bike.

I was hoping to be able to ride it over. We'll see. My instinct is thats it the battery but `I know the heat would help that get it's charge back up.

Time to buy a charger  =)

Take the battery inside and let it warm up to room temp. Then mount it and try to start the bike. If you are storing the bike for the winter buy some Stabil and a Battery Tender.

It sounds like you have no choice but to store outside and ride from there. If you have access to an electrical outlet, I would try some form of heating tape around the battery or battery box. It's just an idea. Lead acid batteries have notoriously lower outputs when very cold. It's just electro-chemistry.  :lol:
