I was riding home today and I really want a more aggressive sitting style on my bike and I think getting new handle bars would help it a lot.  I was looking into getting a set of SM bars for a little now, but I was thinking... I have someone that has a pipe bender, would it be possible to bend my current bars into a custom SM type bars?  Has anyone tried this?

maybe you could just get some clipons?

I'd be worried that if you bent some prebent bars you'd be weakening them. if you have $10 to blow, try a set of drag bars instead. or srinaths bars are a deal at $40...

i messaged srinaths about getting some bars but he never got back with me.. is he still making them?

Just get some clubman bars by BikeMaster. They are like $15 or $20 and should be what you want.

I want something as close as i can get to a super sport bike.. short and angled.

clubmans are good for what they are but they dont quite fit the gs properly and put your hands too low. the best solution, short of clip ons mounted to the fork tubes, is the SM bars (not the S&M bars, Pandy!). so keep trying to get srinaths bars.

Will do.  I will keep trying to see if he will make me a set.  Maybe I can find some other people to get some so he can get motivated to make a set of 5 bars.. So he feels its worth it.
