Apologies to those south of the equator, as there is perhaps a smidgen of sadness in this post for you.  But as an inhabitant of the middle latitudes of the northern hemisphere I'm pleased that today is my shortest day, and that as of 18:30 UTC the earth is tilting back towards my frame of reference.

Yup, I welcome the First Day of Winter.  Means that the rapid decrease in temperature will be stemmed and warmth will build to melt this snowpack I find myself in.  There's still a long way to go, but the physics of this planet are finally turning favourable again.

Ah, the coming of the light, a good old Paganfest and I seem to recall hearing it for something else........

Next time you ride past Stonehenge, Cal, give'er a nod on my behalf.  Probably a bit crowded today, but perhaps in the future when it's not so busy.

Maduro Mistress you keep mentioning this thing called snow stopping you from riding pity Ive never had that problem here and white xmas what a waste of riding time give me 30 degree hot sunny days anytime :lol:

While the snow can be quite anoying at times. x-mas just wouldnt be the same without snow. After a nice snow fall before they plow the roads is really a sight to see. Ive known quite a few people that have come up to wisconsin and seen there first snow fall, and think its the most wonderfull thing in the world.

RedShift, I will do that, probably in June, not for the Solstice but thereabouts.

I think its going to be in the upper 70's to low 80's for the rest of the week... Dam these winters are rough.. :lol:
