Ok, i want to buy this bike from out of state but don't know how to go about getting it shipped.

its from atlanta to norfolk, va.

how do people go about buying and getting the bike shipped?  what are some reputable reasonably priced shippers out there?  

and for payment how does it go?  do you usually pay the seller the whole thing including the shipping payment or do people do cod's?  heh...wish i could find a darn sv in my area.[/i]

the buyer usually arranges everything. buyer should prep the bike (usually just drain the gas) and be there for the pickup. you shouldn't have to pay more than $300-$400 for a door to door service. if it's picked up and delivered to a business address, it could be cheaper.

you pay the shipper directly. i paid the driver when the bike were delivered.

hmm...pay the shipper as in full price including the price of the bike?

also....how can the buy prep the bike if its in another state?  :dunno:

payment for the bike and the shipping is seperate. ask him if he can help you ship the bike beforehand! you pay the seller the money for the bike. you pay the shipping cost to the shipping company.

I like using www.rlcarriers.com for moving my stuff.  When I sell something I charge the shipping quote for RL plus $25 for a couple pallets, two ties and a ratchet strap.

What I do (when it's a bike) is measure my wheelbase and build a single pallet out of the two to where the bike sits sturdy diaganolly across the surface.  I reinforce the sides with 2X4's and top it with a sheet of 1/4" plywood.  I then anchor the bike's front down with straps (I usually use a ratchetstrap to compress the forks some to aid in this) then I use a heavy ratchet strap placed over the rear tire or through the frame and sinch the shaZam! out of it.  Moved four motorcycles like this so far.
