The diameters of the pipe before the can is different on pre 2004 GS's as my friend has a 2001 and it is smaller.

Anybody have the dimension of the smaller diameter GS and larger diameter for 2004 +?

Cheers

This is the kind of crap people find when they search.  :dunno:

They also find the actual answer just below that.

The early one is 1 3/4".

Might be some goofy metric equivalent with a different wall diameter.  Regular ol' 1 3/4" auto store stuff worked for me.

Er, sort of. He had to read, what 3-4 posts that did not contain anything useful. And then the one post that DID contain information was not even the informaiton he was looking for. How is that efficient?  :dunno:

Now if someone else comes along, they have to read both threads - both with almost every post in it completely worthless.  :dunno:

Ja, 45mm is just a hair over 1 3/4".  The new pipes can't be all that far off, since the flanges for the old pipes work fine.  I'd measure it myself, but I don't have calipers.

Search All Terms, Exhaust Pipe Diameter gave the thread I posted as the first result after the current post.

sorry i'm really not sure of that, i used a thicker  pipe to create a custom bend so it was about 2" not sure what stock is though.
