DO you ever stop talking about motorcycles?

Not very long ago, since I got the bike all I could talk about with friends and gf, and sometimes even family was motorcycles. But now it seems that the eagerness to talk about this is not there anymore (been riding for over 6 months now).

Did this happened to you? maybe bikes are not a passion but something nice to do to get from point A to point B?
Caturday yet?

you were just very excited about starting to ride, as we all were...you'll probably still talk lots of motorcycle talk with your riding buddies...doesnt mean its not a passion anymore. just means you're not as obsessed about it as much...

+1 Pablo.

I notice that when I first started riding, I talked about it to everyone who would listen! But now, I know the people that don't really care about hearing my crap. I have certain buddies that also love talking about motorcycles, so I usually reserve that stuff for them. To people that aren't into motorcycles, it is hard to really have a two-sided conversation with them. You just talk "at" them, and sooner or later that gets pretty boring ;)

So it is normal  :thumb:

non-stop talk...but I'm lucky enough to be passionate about a number of things so I can vary my conversation.  It's amazing how verstile you can be talking only about RX-7's, Bimmers and motorcycles.

I've been riding since '01, and bikes are still a major component of my conversations.  Much more so with other riders, but I'll talk bikes with anyone.

Same here...  I talked to EVERYONE about MY new bike.  Everyone was happy for me, but now...

I only save the bike talk for my bike friends, maybe even my car enthusiast friends. :P

I wish I could do that...people have actually started avoiding conversing with me...except my brother...he can usually find someone cool on his end of life to draw me into...

..which is why I have a tesla turbine in my garage...

I learned quickly that my girlfriend doesn't care about motorcycles at all. I have to restrain myself from talking about them, because then I'd just be talking at her.

[drunken ramble]i tell people, "riding is as ALMOST as addictive as sex" key word is almost ;)
most riders can either agree with me, or at least know where i am coming from. non riders and some bike haters either dont get it, which is okay or they comment on my sexual life. which i wont get into here :nono:  ;) . heres my explanation. you are riding for a , say,, period of two years, one reason or another your bike has to go :x , for a lil bit youre not really caring much, but the longer you go without, you look mnore longingly at anything on two wheels with an engine :dunno: [/drunken ramble]

I talk less about motorcycles 'cause everyone I know it really sick of hearing me talk about motorcycles...

So, why do you think I come here?

And yes, I still talk about motorcycles more than my friends would like...  Especially my poor wife...  She has to listen to the most about it.

LOL you nailed it. But it doesn't matter, she doesn't even have to reply, I'm perfectly fine talking "Bike" AT her :)

Motorcycles consume a fair bit of my thoughts/conversations. Oddly enough, going into my third year riding I've realized that the winter time is when the bug hits me the most. Being I'm unable to ride and thoughts of possible MODS, Trips, etc get the wheels in my head moving and the anticipation of spring is almost too much to bare.

Hey Doc, do I have a problem!
