Looking to buy a knife

I used a Gerber AR 3.00 BBS for a few years before I lost it.

3" blade, partially serated, teflon coated. Very nice knife, IMO.

I'm looking to get another knife here shortly. Features I'd like:
Blade length: 3.5" to 5" a must.
Cheap: Around $60 or less, preferably.
Folding and locking. Linerlock is fine.
Clip for holding on a pocket.
Good quality, not going to fall apart or kill me.
Not hideously ugly.

I still don't know wether I want partially serrated or a fine edge, so either one works for now.

Wal-Mart actually has a nice Gerber that I like...3.5" blade, partially serated and titanium coated (like that matters) for $30.  I keep losing the bastards, though...

You "lost" it?  Or buried it with the rest of the "evidence"?   :o

Haha. I lost it. It dropped out of my pocket during one of my classes and I didn't notice until later that day. Went back and it was gone!  :o No one turned it in, either.

Call me old-fashioned, but I don't trust red robots with knives!

I've got the Smith and Wesson S.W.A.T. knife, my second (lost all the screws out of the first, somehow, I don't really know how). I've got the tanto blade right now, you can get it partially serrated. There's three sizes, mine is the middle size, with roughly a 3" blade (my hands are too small for the giant one with like a 3.5" blade), but you may well be able to use it. I got mine for about $35, I think the biggest one is like $50ish.. You should check em out, I absolutely love mine..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

sog flash II spring blade.  best knife i have ever owned.  really durable clip that does not bend out of place, light draw, really safe, quick spring blade.  very intimidating too.  i almost got mugged by some junkie downtown last year and i pulled my knife and he took off running

very concealeable too.

speaking of "lost" knifes. my dad just the other day was showing me his pocket knife and i was thinkin wow thats a nice one i used to have one just like that. he said, ya i found it in my truck... oh wait.... lol keep it dad. keep it. i'd just mess it up. my current knife is a schrade 3 inch part serated that i lost under the same pickup trucks bed liner for a year or 2. after some TLC it is still good as new.

Not to be the bad guy here, but didn't an argument start over the conversation of a weapon last month??

Ehh.. that was buying/selling (and sorta illegal too)... this is discussing a legit, legal product. I believe we've had pocketknife threads here before. After all, a pocketknife is just a tool, same as a wrench. I know I use mine every day, and wouldn't dream of leaving the house without it.

So was the "other one".  I highly doubt anything would come of it if it happened again.

...unless I wanted to be an ass and bombard you foos with "this is a bike forum" comments like the starter of the "other one" got. :nana:

lol.. ok... I agree with you, I LOVE GUNS, and I don't have a problem with them being sold here. But that's neither here nor there. All I'm saying is that most people seem to see knives as more acceptable, and I don't foresee a controversy here like there was over your thread.

Don't get me wrong...  I love to go target shooting (haven't been in a while though), and I just bought myself a new knife/utility blade.

I just don't want to see another trouble thread develop.

Actually my friend got a knife from home depot for christmas and it has one side a boxcutter and on the opposite side a regular knife. Looked pretty handy to me... especially the boxcutter blades... no need to worry about sharpening...

Can't find it online so maybe it's a really new item... but found something that looks like it though this looks like only the boxcutter side to it only.

makenzie71

^Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes all carry those (the dual-blade ones)

Budrick320

My dad found one exactly like that and gave it to me. Ill post a pic tomorrow.

I like it too, I hold it in my backpack when riding. It is missing the clip to holdon the pocket though.

This is the one I actualy just bought at Sears.  I lost the one I bought last year, but like it too much.  Had to get another one.

The knife I had before was a great knife. Durable as hell. I crashed the '92 with it in my pocket and it came out with some scrratches on the clip (which was outside of my pocket) and a tiny bit taken off the tip where it wore through my pants and into the road. I might just end up getting another one of those, but I'd like to check my options.
