The Antibody

Hey everyone. Does a TL1000R rear shock fit our bikes? I think it's a newer one '98 or newer.

Ah, what the hell.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35592&item=2421656448

I'm pretty sure it will fit, but I wonder about the height change if there is one, and grinding for a good fit. Is it necessary?

Black Snowman

I can't actually see it but from my understanding it's the same as the other Suzuki SS and should "fit". Good chance you'll have to do my dogbone trick or work on the sidestand though.
Laws don't stop criminals. People do.

the TLS and R have a rotory dampener.....
the shock that has a spring...is just a spring!!!!!!
with a shock body...NO dampening at all!!!!!

this is why all bikes don't have this system...it was a great idea....but failed....remember air forks.....and anti-dive systems

do not buy it for a GS!!!!!!!! you will be most unhappy!!!!!
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Ken's right (no really). The Tillers are reknown for their crappy rear shock. Even Suzuki realized this and put a regular shock on the sv1000 (essentially a TL with a reworked engine).

Read any magazines recently?  Every review I've read has discounted this theory in the first paragraph - or even sentence.  The SV1k gets amazing reviews.

The Buddha

Talk of short memory...I can understand the magazine flakes...cos if you remembered what they wrote you wont need to buy any more... The TL had the mags drooling and screaming like a stoned groupie at a heavy metal concert...There was of course talk of inijection glitches and other trivia but they were seriously having orgasms over it...Now The beauty is that the TL and the 96+ GSXR was nikasil coated and so was the old SV (99 and later)...now all of a sudden the new SV has that listed as an improvement over the old one...in motorcyclist...Yea the rags are worse than the factory sales people and corporate bean counters.
Cool.
