Nice, I like the yellow and black scheme. I'm thinking of going Yellow and metallic purple on mine
Laws don't stop criminals. People do.

Looks nice!!  How'd you mount the license plate?  Where'd you get the flushmounts?

Updated site.  Motorcycle Page is coming together.

I used L-brackets for the license plate, and just bent them even more.  All my buddies laugh cause all you see when you're behind that bike is a slight white line (the license plate)

I found those flush mount blinkers at the local dealer, they're under 20 bucks.  They're white but blink orange and are very bright.  I think Lockhart Phillips makes them

Tincan

Nice bike, good job.
PS  Looks like your due for a new tire.  ;)

:thumb: cool ride, man.

Looks good!  Now work on the chicken strips (safely)!

Nice look-wonder how long it'll take to get pulled over for not having a license plate? That can't be legal!

Pablo, the reason the plate is like that is cause I simply don't pull over. just kiddin...  I just couldnt stand the look of that plate hanging down and breaking the sexy lines of this GS

As far as the chicken strips go....  that's just a reflection.  I grind the pegs of this one!

Sure...whatever you say. :nana:

You can make the license look good though. I guess you missed this one like mine:

Pablo, I really eat up those tires.....

I'll post a close up and I promise I won't use a file to grind them down!!! :thumb:

Pablo, I like your plate.  I tried having it angle the other way but just don't like it as much as the way I put mine.  You're right, I'll probably get pulled other, but I'm sure I'll just get a warning...  After a couple of cops bring it up to me, I'll probably have it mounted the way yours is

My friend had an sv650 and his plate was mounted in FRONT of the rear tire, mounted to the back of the airbox or front of the rear fender...you could see it when the bike sat but once he got on it the tire obscured the entire plate-all you could see was "california" on the top. He got pulled over all the time and kept getting fix-it tickets (they still cost money). he'd show up, get off his bike and voila' there it was.

Do yourself a favor and set it up to be visible. You're either gonna look like a hooligan (for hiding it) or a dweeb (for not getting it sorted). You're making us all look bad.

Some things shouldn't IMO be screwed with legally. Turn signals are one thing but your license plate is a whole other ball game...but thats me. You should do what you think is right.

Pablo, I used to have a TL1000R with a eurotail.  I bought the bike from a Tennessee state trooper and he didn't have a plate on the bike.  He claimed it wasn't required for him to do mount it he just had to carry it.  I simply left the plate off and was pulled over once in a 6 months period.
I pulled the plate outta the rear sear and showed the cop.  He told me to go on and told me he just wanted to make sure the bike wasn't hot.

Pablo, you're a good guy, but you're taking things a little too far when you say "you make all of us look like hooligans".   Come on buddy.....  You seriously people are going to start putting the GS riders in the same bag as the Hell's Angels and the Outlaws cause there's a yellow GS with a license plated angled too much.

Arpee

SER, you're cool...CA is just really nuts about this stuff...especially now that money's tight.  They're looking for all sorts of ways to make money for the state.

As for the bike...really a nice, clean look you got going.  That shock makes the whole bike look bigger..... :thumb:
GS500E....back where it all began....again.

A clarification first: Hells angels and outlaws aren't hooligans. They're, um hells angels and outlaws. The hooligans are the ones my local CHP are after, stunting on their sportbikes and generally causing havoc.

I can't imagine a state that would allow a vehicle to carry its license plate inside and not hav eit visible. What would happen if I decided to carry my license plate IN my car. No one would be able to identify me and I'd be free to cause trouble without fear of reprocussions. Can't see why a motorcycle wouldn't fall under the same rules in any state. CA is anal about that sort of stuff but that means cars HAVE to carry a front license plate (so they can catch you on photo radar/lights). There is NO WAY that it is legal in any state to not have your rear license plate visible.

I was obviously taking a liberty with my words and exaggerating a bit for effect but I still feel there are too many ways/reasons the general public has available to hate motorcyclists. Trying to hide a license plate could be percieved as a way to prevent capture in criminal activity.

Your bike looks good. The plate looks like shaZam!; just looks bent to me. That's my opinion and anyone (everyone?) feel free to disagree. You're a good guy too and I don't mean to make this sound like a personal attack, it's not intended to be one.

Pablo, take a good look:   The plate is PERFECTY straight!

All my buddies dig it.  They love the fact that it doesn't brake any of the bikes lines.
Talking about hooligans, I know tons of guys around here (Tennessee) that ride with hidden plates, no blinkers, no mirrors.  My friend's R1's plate says  something like:  808088  from more than 10 feet away you can't tell whether you're looking at 8's or 0's then trying to remember the sequence is a Buddha Loves You too I bet.

Hooligans-on R1's (thats what I mean-outlaws and hells angels arent hooligans).

Yeah, sorry about that, thought the plat was bent. You did a good job of mounting it face down. Maybe when the cops pull you over you can do a stoppie to show them your plate.
