so lowering doesnt affect the bike handling...and im guessing if it did its very slight.

Im going to take my bike to a local shop and have them throw on some aftermarket dogbones

Question i found some lowering links/dogbones they are custom made im guessing but i have a silly question on here in the archive site it says to use the GSXR 600 ones..which they have but they also have ones for all Gs500E models now this is probably a dumb question but would they be the same for a GS500F?

I went into a local sport bike shop and they probably had 50 bikes or more in their garage, all pretty much project bikes to sell some day. Anyways, to make a long story short, their shop looked impressive, the guys seemed to know what they were talking about and claimed to have been in the bike lifestyle for most of their lives... But needless to say, I felt that they knew what they were talking about after a while of just bsing and getting to sit on the Busa.  :) Anyhow, the guy that makes the dogbones said as long as I leave the suspension alone, lowering via dogbones won't effect the handling. He also suggested that I be there when he makes the dogbones so he can custom fit them to me. Which is a great idea so you outta call around and visit some local bike shops and see if they'll offer this kind of customer service to you. He quoted me $110 custom fitted and installed. Doesn't seem too shabby of a price... And this way since I'll be there I can watch so I'll know how to do it myself next time! :P

btw I'm interested to know what they quote you to fit some dogbones and install them.

Seana are you going to install the lowering kit or take it to a dealer? Did you get your bike at Procycle? I would like to know how the lowering goes as my wife would like a inch or two off. It is either that or we will have to get her legs lengthened which seems cost prohibitive.

You could try to get the seat shaved and re covered or put on a set of low profile radial tyres. The dog bone swap seems the way to go though and you cant beat the price or service either.
