Sometimes we are the shepards of the flock. Sometimes you will see my title change to "Car Herder" on BayAreaRidersForum.com. One of the things I will do if a car is getting onto the freeway a little too slowly, and I know we are going to merge, I will purposefully move in behind them to kinda 'help' them accelerate, or get up to speed.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

pandy's on drugs pandy's on drugs...

I actually tail entering traffic, too, if it's possible...and when I'm not in a hurry.  If the higway's wide and open they're on their own, though.

I thought I was the only one who did this!!!  I sometimes turn on my blinkers to make us both visible...

But of course, like Makenzie, if the highway is WIDE, I'm gone already.

Are you saying you like to be spanked?

My first bike was a 185cc enduro, and I haveta say that I LOVED traffic on the freeways =P I'd normally haveta take local streets cause I couldn't do over 65, but as soon as I saw traffic on the 10/405/5 freeways, I'd be all over it. Course, it was always fun when traffic would open up for a few, and my poor lil 185 would be doin its best to keep up =P Now that I have my GS, it's aaaaaaaall good =) Plus, freeway lanes are muuuuch bigger than side street lanes. Specially when you have that nice double yellow carpool lane. Just haveta watch out for those other peoples that like to ignore those...
Aaaaah, Los Angeles. Where if the traffic don't kill ya, the air will =P

Here is a good article about the pros/cons of lane splitting in California, along with some statistics on why lane splitting may be safer than staying in the carpool lane and getting rear-ended  :)
